Third Person's POV
"Good morning." Harriet said with amusement clear in her voice and on her face as she saw a clearly ruffled up and hung over Draco came out of his room. "Good morning." Draco said still dazed. "Here is your coffee and your headache relieving potion." Harriet said and then placed the said drinks on the dining table in front of Draco, who quickly said thank you and went for the potion first before he took the coffee. "What time is it?" Draco asked Harriet. "It's currently 11:00 Am." Harriet smiled and Draco's eyes widened before he choked on his coffee and Harriet immediately patted his back to calm his coughing down. "Take a rest today, you were drunk last night. I'll handle the work." Harriet said and draco nodded at her gratefully before she placed an assortment of breakfast on the table and then sat down at her work desk. After a few minutes, Draco finally noticed the missing people and the quietness of the HQ. "Where are Thor and Darcy?" Draco asked Harriet whilst biting into the food and looking around. "Oh, I sent Darcy to go and buy more food and groceries and I sent thor with her to take a walk." Harriet answered as she typed into her laptop, writing all of the data that she had learned from thor, this laptop was the only computer that the SHIELD agents didn't find along with all of their magical artifacts, the laptop was shrunken into harriet's trunk. "Oh." Draco said disinterestedly before his eyes widened.
"Is it a good idea to leave Thor with Darcy?" Draco asked. Harriet paused in her typing and sighed before she started typing on the keyboard again. "No, it isn't. But we can't do anything about it now." Harriet said simply, before the front door opened. "We are back!!" Darcy exclaimed with her arms spread out and rushed inside the place. Thor soon followed after her and he smiled at Draco and Harriet in greeting. Draco was really glad for the potion that Harriet had given him earlier, or else his head would be pounding with even more of an headache because of Darcy's loud voice. "Welcome back you two. Darcy place the grocery into the kitchen." Harriet said after she returned the smile back to Thor. Darcy nodded and grabbed the bags from Thor aside from one bag. Darcy winked at Thor as she gestured to Harriet and then the bag. Thor nodded and went to harriet. "Harriet." Thor said and harriet turned her to him, to see that he was standing right behind her. "What is it, Thor?" Harriet asked turning her chair, so that she was face to face with Thor, she had an office chair for her desk. "Um." Thor said before he gave her the shopping bag with a slight blush on his cheeks. "Thanks?" Harriet said with a curious smile before she grabbed the bag from his hands and took out the item that was inside of the bag. "Ah?!" Harriet gasped, inside of the bag was a box of Treacle Tarts!! "Oh my, thank you, Thor!" Harriet exclaimed with a bright smile towards Thor, who smiled back at her in return. Draco and Darcy watched this interaction with slight and bright smiles on their faces, respectively. Draco was glad that Harriet was happy, he had a feeling that these two would be more than just friends in the near future.
Nothing interesting happened for a few days, until on sunday, when Harriet decided to take a break from work and take thor out to visit The Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Thor was still upset about not being able to pick up the hammer, Mjolnir. Thor hid the fact that he was upset really well, but Harriet saw through it clearly, so to change his mood and get his mind of the hammer, she decided to take him to a different place, as a change in scenery would help him in order to relax. Harriet made Thor sit in the passenger seat in her car before she drove them to the park. Draco had protested at being left alone with Darcy but Harriet had shushed him up quickly. Harriet parked the car in the parking lot and led Thor to the entrance. They walked in and headed down the natural, serpentine like switchback entrance trail that led them down into the natural cave entrance. Harriet was happy that they came here and luckily there weren't many people there that day. "Wow." Harriet said as she looked around the place. "This place kind of reminds me of the chamber of secrets, but here, its actually clean." Harriet chuckled. "The what?" Thor asked, he felt like he had heard that name before he forgot. "The chamber of secrets, where I fought a basilisk when I was 12." Harriet said smiling up at Thor. "It looked like here, but still quite different." Harriet said before she paused, and then turned to Thor again. "How about I show you?" Harriet asked and Thor nodded in agreement. Harriet placed her right index finger on Thor's forehead and transferred her memories to him from when she had fought with the basilisk inside of the chamber of secrets. Thor was shocked. Hearing from Harriet that she had defeated a basilisk was different than seeing her fight with it and encounter the young dark lord with his own eyes, or mind eyes that is. "It looked hideous. This looks beautiful." Harriet said filling the silence before she pulled back her hand and turned around to continue looking at the caves. "Look at the awesome details in these rocks, it's like discovering things from a whole new world." Harriet said mesmerized by the cave while thor looked mesmerized at harriet's amazed smile and sparkling eyes as she looked at rock designs.
They walked in deeper into the caves, where they came across an alone circular sitting area. It was relatively cool down there, so they paused their exploring for the moment and sat down to rest. After a minute, a little girl suddenly walked over to them. The poor thing was crying, so Harriet immediately kneeled down in front of her. "What's wrong, sweetie?" Harriet asked her in a gentle and soothing voice, which seemed to calm the little girl down slightly. "I can't find my mommy and daddy." The little girl said while sniffling. "Oh, come here, sweetie." Harriet said and brought the little girl into a hug to calm her down. Thor saw Harriet wave her hand behind the girl and a silvery white phoenix appeared there and it bowed to Harriet before it flew into the direction that they came from. "What happened?" Harriet asked the girl after she calmed down from her crying. "I was looking at the pools with my mom and dad and then.... they were not there." The girl cried. "It's ok sweetie, you'll see your mom and dad soon." Harriet soothed the young girl while she rubbed her back. Suddenly a cave official walked towards them from the entryway. "What is going on here?" He questioned but when he looked at Harriet his eyes widened but harriet spoke before he said anything. "We found this little girl here, she got separated from her parents." Harriet said looking at the offical.
"I'll take her up to the reception office and handle it, ma'am." The cave official said with great respect that didn't go unnoticed by Thor. Just then, the bats in the roof of the cave screeched loudly, making the girl lean even more into Harriet's arms. "Don't worry, sweetie. They are just the bats that live here, we're visiting them." Harriet said to the girl. The young girl looked up at Harriet with her big and wide eyes. "Really?" She asked with a child's curiosity. "Yes, they are saying hello." Harriet smiled and another screech came. "See." The girl smiled at Harriet. "Now go with the nice sir, he works here and takes care of the bats house. He will take you back to your parents." Harriet said and looked at the man along with the little girl and he nodded at them. "Thank you." The young girl said as she hugged harriet, who hugged her back. "Your welcome, dear." Harriet nodded at her after separating from the hug. The little girl walked away with the cave official, waving at harriet, who waved back at her with a smile. "You are amazing." Thor said, looking at harriet with amazed eyes. "What?" Harriet asked, not understanding what Thor meant by that statement. "The way you helped that child. I..I..." Thor hesitated to continue. "What? We are alone here, Thor, you can tell me." Harriet said in a soothing voice.
Thor sighed, "I have to admit that.... had it been me back in asgard, then I wouldn't have looked twice or even cared for that little girl. I would've just assumed that someone else would handle it and... seeing your kindness has taught me a great lesson." Thor said with sincerity. "Hmm. There is an old saying here in the human world, you catch more flies with honey than you'd do with vinegar." Harriet recalled the saying that she read in one of the muggle books. Harriet had taken a great liking to ready both muggle and magical literatures, she had a huge library in the peverell mansion other than the mansions own old library. Guess not having Hermione granger breathing down your neck after you beat her in your classes scores in a tie, or got more marks then her, helped Harriet see the beauty of knowledge. The two of them saw bats attacking a younger and smaller bat, before it fell down onto Harriet's lap with an injured wing due to the fight. Harriet gently took the mammal in her left hand and waved her right hand over it with her hand glowing green. (Quick info, ever since Harriet gained the wandless magic casting ability her magical energy has become visible to the eyes, its emerald avada kedavra green just like her eye colour, kinda like Wanda's powers).
The wing was healed and put into its right place with a snapping sound. "What the saying means to say is, if you show kindness, generosity and compassion to others, then people will like you and love you, and they will respect you far more than you can ever imagine." Harriet spoke in a soft voice as they saw the bat nudge at Harriet's thumb in thanks before it flew up and away, deeper into the caves. Harriet looked at thor and smiled up at him. "To be a true leader, whether it's a mighty warrior, or a powerful king, or a witch or wizard fighting a war, you must always put your people first. By showing concern and interest in their safety, their treatment and their overall lives, they will respect you, they will know that you truly care for them as your own people and thus, the people will love you." Harriet said. "What about the people, who judge you, challenege you or doubt that you are worthy?" Thor questioned. "You ignore them." Harriet said simply. "You keep going on your path, you work hard and prove to them that they are wrong. With good deeds and genuine grace, their eyes will open and when they come to apologize to you, you forgive them." Harriet said with a warm smile to Thor. Thor blinked, "Just like that?" Thor asked.
"Just like that." Harriet nodded at him. "No one is ever perfect. People always have their pre-convinced opinions and notions of things and what should be or shouldn't be, and we are not there to judge them." Harriet shook her head. "Maybe, they were just raised that way, to think in a certain way, that is completely different from the way you were raised." Harriet tilted her head with a smile. "But, perhaps, your actions will make them rethink, think twice and agree with you in the end. By forgiving them, you show your maturity, and that you are willing to accept that they think differently than you, but it also shows, that they have finally realized what you truly think. And who are we to deny them the forgiveness, when they are actually worthy of that forgiveness." Harriet said and Thor took in her words. Harriet's words were a great eye opener and lesson for Thor. "I thank you for your words, Harriet." Thor said sincerely. "Your welcome." Harriet chuckled lightly at thor. Thor gave Harriet a hand for support to get up and she grabbed it before she stood up and then sat down beside Thor on the couches there. Harriet didn't let go of Thor's hand, rather she put her other hand on top of Thor's hand and gave it a supportive pat whilst smiling up at him. Thor smiled back down at her too.
"Excuse me?" A photographer, who had walked up to them said and the two turned to him. "Would you like a picture to remember your day here at the Carlsbad Caves? It's only two dollars a shot." The photographer said. "We'd love one!" Harriet said smiling brightly at thor. "Alright. Would you and your boyfriend move closer to each other?" That made Harriet and Thor realize that they were sitting very close together and were holding hands as the photographer set up the camera. Harriet grinned mischievously, and thor let go of harriet's hand. "Oh no, we are..." Thor started to explain nervously, he absolutely did not want to offend harriet. Harriet chuckled before she took thor's hand again. "Of course. Move closer, love." Harriet said to Thor. Thor smiled down at her and played along, he placed his arm around harriet, while harriet snuggled her slender back into Thor's hard and muscled chest. Thor gave Harriet's hand a squeeze as they smiled for the picture. The flash of the camera made a lot of bats screech and fly out into another area of the big caves. Thor chuckled and harriet giggled at the bats' reaction to the flash of light. Harriet paid the photographer and he told them where to collect the picture from, after he gave them a slip of paper with the number 7 on it. Harriet giggled at seeing the number on the paper slip after the photographer left. "What is it?" Thor asked with a slight smile on his face at seeing harriet giggle. "It's the number 7." Thor raised an eyebrow in question at that. "In the magical world, the number 7 is considered as the most powerful magical number, and I always end up with either the number 7 or 3. Number 3 also has the same significance as the number 7." Harriet explained, and thor nodded his head in understanding before a thought struck him.
"Harriet, did you know that cave official? He seemed to have great respect for you." Thor said. "Oh, he must've been a muggleborn wizard or a squib, who left the magical world and started to work in the muggle world. He must've seen my face in the newspapers, even after eleven years people still haven't forgotten me." Harriet shook her head in disappointment. "You want people to forget you?" Thor questioned her with open curiosity showing on his face. "Yes, it would be much better if I'm just a passing witch, rather than the 'Woman-who-conquered' in the magical world. I sometimes worry if my children get pestered by the other kids for being my children." Harriet said sadly. Thor frowned, harriet was thinking that she was not a good mother and that her children deserved a better mother than her, who didn't have such a reputation that media would always be after them. Thor had learned to slowly but surely read harriet's emotions during this past week and he was getting good at it now too. "I think, they are proud of being born and adopted as your children. More than you can think or imagine. They would never be bothered by silly pestering like that in comparison being proud of their mother, they are your children after all." Harriet's eyes widened at hearing thor's firm statement. Harriet's cheeks started to heat up, before she shook herself in her mind and smiled up at thor. "Let's move along." Harriet said and led thor through the caves to explore the caves some more. After walking for awhile, they both finally reached the photo booth. "Hello." Harriet greeted the young lady standing there. "Number..." Harriet started but the young lady bursted into a bright smile. "7! I know. A beautiful couple such as yours is hard to miss." The young lady said with a friendly smile and gave them their photo in an envelope. "Thank you, for the photo and the compliment." Harriet chuckled and the young lady blushed. Harriet wrapped her right arm around Thor's back and waist. This tender physical contact gave thor butterflies in his stomach and he smiled. In return, Thor wrapped his left arm around Harriet's shoulders too. They smiled at each other and walked away from the photo booth.
As the future couple walked out to the parking lot, they both laughed. Thor opened the car door for harriet and she sat down with a smile before thor got into the passenger seat and they drove back to the HQ in Puente Antiguo. Today was great day. At the HQ, Harriet put the picture into a frame and placed it on her desk, just beside her other pictures. All of them were with different people and the pictures were taken on different occasions. In one picture, there was Harriet and Natasha, both of them standing with each other and they had one arm wrapped around each other's waist with bright smiles on their faces, it was taken on the first birthday that Natasha had ever celebrated. In the second picture, there was Harriet, wearing her quidditch robes with both of her kids also in their quidditch robes, all three of them had brooms in their hands and they were looking tired but extremely happy, this picture was taken right after Harriet and the two kids had played quidditch together, when the two little marauders were ten years old. In the last picture, there was Harriet standing with Draco, Harriet was wearing an emerald green, sparkling floor-length dress and Draco was wearing a formal black suit with an emerald green tie, this picture was taken during the first year anniversary party of their company, Harriet held a glass of wine in her left hand and Draco held his own glass of wine in his right hand and they had their free arms wrapped around the other's waist, just like in the picture of Natasha and Harriet, with happy smiles on their faces. And now, Thor and Harriet's picture also joined these pictures on her desk.
