Charles was completely speechless for a while after what Kaya said. He expected her to lash out at him immediately after what happened. He knew that she loved Mikayla a lot. However, what happened was completely different.

She had simply changed the direction of the conversation with ease to something else. He wasn't ready for that and ended up stuck speechless.

"So, what do you want, Charles?" Kaya asked when she found him silent.

"... What are you going to do?" He finally shook his thoughts away and asked the initial question he was intending to pose on her.

"None of your buss-" As Kaya was about to harshly push him away, she noticed that Kai was signaling for her. Looking up, she read his hand gestures that he was making. It didn't take her long to understand what he wanted to say.

"I'm laying low for now. Divinity is gonna have to take this huge outrage alone."
