章節 19: Chapter 19

Seeing this kind of situation for the first time, Yingjian was stunned. She looked at her raised hand, her pupils shaking.

"No, aren't knives these days all about causing accidents??" she said.

Seemingly taken aback by her words, her hand paused for a moment, then raised again. The blade flashed, and the large tree in front of her was cut in half. The shade disappeared, and the sound of a huge impact accompanied by flying dust made Yingjian choke. Suddenly remembering the man who had been sitting under the tree just moments ago, Yingjian was startled and immediately turned to look, only to find that he had fallen to the side, with Thunderstorm helping him up at that moment.

"Yingjian, what's wrong?!"

"Don't come over!" Yingjian tried to control her hand, but found that it completely disobeyed her.

"Albedo! What's going on?!" Yingjian turned her head to ask the alchemist, but found that he was standing far away, holding an old notebook.

Yingjian couldn't control her hand's movements. She suddenly remembered the appearance of the samurai she had seen before - the samurai had empty eyes, but the movements of wielding the sword were smooth and precise, showing no signs of being unconscious.

She now had consciousness as well, but it seemed that her hand had gained another consciousness - this consciousness came from the broken sword in her hand.

"To be precise, this is a cursed sword," she heard the alchemist's voice.

"After chatting with Xiaochuan Hui, I found out that the information he mentioned was unreliable, so I found something interesting in the secret compartment of his house."

"Can you get to the point? So, you're the one being controlled by the sword, right?"

The sword temporarily stopped, but that didn't stop Yingjian from being hostile. However, the person being hostile remained calm. The alchemist flipped through the old, yellowed notebook and said, "The sword you're holding in your hand is Xiaochuan's family heirloom. Since it went missing after Xiaochuan Hui's □□ father Xiaochuan Zong disappeared, its whereabouts have been unknown. And Xiaochuan Zong's disappearance happened to be related to Sakashita Musashi. Quite a coincidence, don't you think?"

"Huh? Coincidence? What coincidence?"

"This unlucky 'lucky person' who was killed by the sword is none other than Sakashita," the alchemist said.

Yingjian understood what he meant, but before she could say anything, her hand started to tremble. More accurately, the sword began to vibrate.

Like weeping blood, she could almost hear the sound of lament coming from within the sword. The broken sword suddenly burst into flames of demonic energy. The anger and unwillingness were transmitted through the hilt to the wielder's flesh and blood. The resonance of emotions brought another round of trembling, even to the soul itself.

"But now it's damaged by you, and you can purify impurities. The spirit in the sword will probably dissipate soon," the alchemist said. "If you want to find the source, listen carefully to what it has to say."

"What kind of joke are you playing? How can I listen to what it..."

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the cold light reflected by the sword. And as the sword swung down, she saw a young man standing in front of her, just getting up from a crouching position. Yingjian's pupils shrank.

"I'm listening to you!!"

The sword was almost millimeters away from the boy's neck. The prominent veins on Yingjian's fair hand were exposed. She used all her strength to stop the sword from swinging down. After confirming that the boy in front of her was unharmed, the tense muscles relaxed in an instant, as if frozen blood began to flow again. She could only hear her own rapid breathing, her forehead sweating, and her heart beating abnormally fast.

"Almost."

If he hadn't controlled it in time just now, if she hadn't shouted those words in time, if she had harmed the puppet...

What would have happened?

Would he be scared, would he hate her... would he leave?

What she could give in return was far less than what he had given her, even though he had always been telling her how important she was... she still couldn't imagine the consequences of her impulsiveness.

Yingjian's mind went blank, until a familiar voice brought her consciousness back.

"Yingjian?"

When her gaze focused again, she saw the boy in front of her with trembling purple pupils. Yingjian thought he was scared by her, and was about to comfort him, but she saw his lips tremble.

"Yingjian... why are you crying?"

"Crying?"

Yingjian then felt the wetness on her face was not just the sweat that had flowed down due to extreme tension, but tears that she completely didn't understand why they were falling at this moment.

She felt the sadness coming from her heart, guilt and pain, struggle and rebellion. It was like ice in an extremely cold place, suffocating like being buried deep in an abyss.

This is not her emotion.

In a daze, she seemed to hear someone calling her name, but she seemed to be in a dream, and the person in her dream was someone she had never seen before.

["Master Kazuha, I finally found out! There is a legendary crystal mine on an island!"]

["Crystal mine?! You mean the ore that is loved by the god and blessed with power?"]

["Exactly! I thought that legendary thing wouldn't exist, but it seems that an adventurer found this kind of ore in the ruins of Inazuma. I offered a very high price but couldn't get it."]

["The crystal mine is what all swordsmiths pursue... Alright, come with me."]

["Sigh, alright. If those big clans find out, we won't even have a chance. Master, I'll go pack my things!"]

As they said, the two of them boarded a small boat and arrived at the deserted island of Tatarasuna after a day and night. When their feet touched the ground, the feeling of rootlessness from drifting at sea disappeared.

"We've finally arrived, Musashi. The secret you mentioned..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. When he lowered his head, he saw a knife stained red with blood.

"Master Kazuha, I'm sorry. But I still can't understand why you always look down on me, only treating me as a servant to be ordered around. Your temper is unbearable, and I can no longer tolerate your insults and belittlement. This is not my fault. Please forgive my rudeness. I will take your knife back and return it to the Kazuha family. Please rest in peace."

Hanzaki Musashi quietly watched the burly man in front of him, without uttering a sound, and fell straight down. He squatted down and was about to take the katana from the man's waist when he heard a rustling sound.

The ground beneath his feet gradually turned black, and the black water, like a swamp, began to churn. Startled, Hanzaki Musashi quickly stood up and took a few steps back, only to see the dark and damp swamp-like black mud engulfing the body of the swordsmith in an instant.

Hanzaki Musashi was frightened and stood still, unable to move his limbs. The black mud writhed, as if chewing. The blackness extended from the shadows until he snapped out of his daze and realized that the ground under his feet was almost stained black. He quickly stepped back, but even so, one of his legs was still swallowed by the darkness. He managed to save his life and left in a panic.

Until darkness covered her eyes and the scene in front of her gradually became blurred, she remembered who she was and faintly heard someone calling her name.

"Who?"

"...What are you talking about?"

When her eyes slowly opened and her mind was still not clear, she felt something cold dripping on her face. Until she was embraced and felt the trembling of powerful arms, she saw the light in front of her and was still a bit dazed.

"It was nighttime just now..."

Until she felt the wetness on her neck, she was completely awake.

"...Asan?"

She instinctively raised her hand and patted the back of the boy, and without thinking, she blurted out coldly.

"Who bullied you?"
