章節 131: Trust

"I should go back to the compound," Lucas mutters as we walk into my room. He looks defeated and I don't like it one bit. I want him to at least believe that we will win this fight.

"Stay?" I ask him with the hope that he will agree.

Lucas lets out a sigh as he sits down on the edge of the bed "I can't. My people are worried, they don't have faith in me anymore." he tells me.

I hate that he is carrying the burden of his pack on his own but that is how it is with me too.

I want us to come together.

When Glinda mentioned the potential of us being mates, I wanted to believe it so badly. I want that to be the case. If and Lucas I were mates, our packs would come together, and it wouldn't feel so lonely.

But I know the chances of that happening are slim to none. It is just wishful thinking. Even though a lot of things are pointing to the possibility, I don't want my hopes up completely.
