章節 72: The proposal

The next time I open my eyes, it doesn't hurt as much as the first time and this time, I am on the bed.

"Fuck," I exclaim as I clutch my head from the blurriness.

I don't know how long I was out but I am fucking exhausted.

"You are awake," I hear the voice.

Abruptly, I look in the direction of the voice and there is a man seated on the only chair in the room. Recognition hits me instantly and my assumption was right.

"Nathanial," I call out his name and I realize that I don't sound like myself. My voice is hoarse and very low. I have no concept of time at this moment, but this is more than a day.

The man stands up and I jolt up in a way to shield myself. I have met Nathanial only once in my life and even then, he terrified me.

Nathanial is older, has more experience than I do and apparently, he is even more ruthless.

"There is no need to challenge me. I am not here for a fight," he smiles calmly.

"What do you want with me?" I manage.
