Spring rain drizzled gently.
Under a large tree, the Sixth Hokage's family was enjoying a delightful picnic.
From a tree in the distance, Hashirama melded with the trunk, using Wood Release to conceal his presence completely. His eyes were fixed on the family beneath the tree, particularly the man in the pristine white Hokage robe.
So, that's Uchiha Dan?
Hashirama's first impression of Dan was his imposing physique. Standing two meters tall with muscles that nearly burst out of his Hokage robe, Dan looked like a mountain. No wonder he had a daughter like Marissa.
Corresponding to this formidable physique was the immense, unfathomable chakra within Dan, comparable to Hashirama's own.
Dan hadn't revealed his legendary Rinnegan at the moment, but his deep, enigmatic black eyes resembled bottomless abysses that could swallow a person's spirit.
Overall, he was an exceedingly dangerous man, potentially even more so than Uchiha Madara had been.
Hashirama's main purpose for coming to Konoha was to gather information about Uchiha Dan. If Dan's ambition to collect all the Tailed Beasts, become the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, and rule the world eternally was genuine, what impact would that have on the ninja world? Should he be stopped?
Hashirama couldn't yet answer these questions. He intended to observe more, gather as much information about Dan as possible, and then make a decision.
Elsewhere, in the main hall of the Naka Shrine, Tobirama had stealthily bypassed the Uchiha guards and found the hidden chamber beneath the seventh tatami mat.
In the softly lit chamber stood a stone tablet inscribed with mysterious characters.
"So, this is the tablet left by the Sage of Six Paths for the Uchiha clan," Tobirama muttered, frowning as he approached the tablet, his face filled with suspicion.
He squatted down, closely examining the inscriptions, attempting to decipher the hidden information. However, after a long study, he made no progress.
Eventually, Tobirama sighed and stood up, abandoning his efforts.
Perhaps these characters were meaningless, crafted by the Uchiha to deceive others, using the Sage of Six Paths' name to justify their actions.
Whatever the Uchiha intended, they could claim to follow the tablet's supposed commands, giving their actions a veneer of legitimacy.
What a clever tactic.
Tobirama smirked coldly, shaking his head as he prepared to leave.
Just then, a voice spoke behind him. "Don't bother. Only the Sharingan can understand the tablet. An outsider like you shouldn't even try."
Uchiha Tekka and his wife, Chisaki, appeared silently at the chamber entrance. As two powerful Mangekyo Sharingan users and the former "Heaven and Earth" duo, they had developed a deep synergy over the years.
Oh?
Tobirama turned, slightly surprised, and asked calmly, "How did you discover me?"
He had been careful not to leave any trace.
"Ignorant fool," Tekka sneered, "The Hokage knew you were here the moment you entered Konoha."
He and Chisaki were acting on Dan's orders to apprehend the intruder.
What?!
Tobirama's heart sank. He had underestimated Uchiha Dan.
His brother might be in danger.
Tekka, seeing Tobirama's silence, produced a pair of handcuffs and said, "You've trespassed on Uchiha territory. Surrender now, and you'll have a chance to live."
He tossed the handcuffs at Tobirama's feet.
Hmph.
Tobirama smirked inwardly, his gaze sharp as he chose to respond with action.
In an instant, he clapped his hands together, unleashing a surge of chakra.
A spiraling torrent of water erupted around him, filling the chamber and crashing toward Tekka and Chisaki.
Water Release: Water Severing Wave.
"Careful," Tekka warned Chisaki as they both leapt back.
Above ground, the Naka Shrine was tranquil and serene, shrouded in a veil of spring rain.
Many tourists walked under the towering red torii gates, relishing the shrine's peaceful and sacred atmosphere.
Suddenly, a violent tremor shook the ground, causing buildings to sway and many pedestrians to stumble.
What's happening?
Numerous curious eyes turned toward the shrine's main hall, where the tremors were most intense, like the epicenter of an earthquake.
Boom!
A massive water column, ten meters thick, burst from the ground, soaring dozens of meters into the air before cascading down.
In seconds, the rushing water filled the shrine's grounds, transforming the area into a lake that submerged buildings, torii gates, and trees halfway.
"Help!"
Some tourists and pedestrians, unable to evade the flood, were swept away, resulting in casualties.
Swoosh, swoosh.
Two figures burst from the water, landing on its surface — Tekka and Chisaki.
Tekka carried a pale, coughing child who had nearly drowned.
Locking their sights on Tobirama, who was rising slowly from the water, Tekka shouted, "You trespassed on sacred Uchiha ground, destroyed the Naka Shrine, and harmed Konoha's villagers and tourists. You won't leave here alive!"
Tobirama's expression darkened.
Of the accusations Tekka hurled, the first two didn't bother him, but harming innocents was never his intention.
Perhaps he had grown rusty from his long sleep in the Pure Land.
When casting his jutsu, he had failed to consider the civilians above ground.
He was no terrorist. He hadn't come to Konoha to cause wanton destruction and death.
Thus, he sighed, "Let's end this here. I have no intention of killing you."
He dove back into the water, utilizing the environment he had created to move swiftly. Whether attacking or escaping, he had the upper hand in the water.
However, Tekka wasn't about to let him leave so easily.
"You think you can come and go as you please after causing such havoc? Do you think this is some playground?"
Furious, Tekka leapt into the air, his eyes turning into crimson crosses.
Fire Release: Majestic Destroyer Flame!
After rapidly forming seals, Tekka exhaled a sea of flames, intending to evaporate the lake Tobirama had created.
As an experienced Mangekyo Sharingan user with implanted Hashirama cells, Tekka had immense chakra reserves to sustain large-scale Fire Release techniques.
Moreover, while forming seals, he activated his Mangekyo ability — Kotoamatsukami.
This technique functioned like Sage Mode, amplifying his ninjutsu's scale and power fourfold.
These factors combined made Tekka the undisputed master of Fire Release within the Uchiha clan.
His Majestic Destroyer Flame was on par with Uchiha Madara's.
Hiss.
As the fire clashed with the water, immense clouds of steam rose, visible across much of Konoha.
Once the lake evaporated, Tobirama was forced to reveal himself.
"How is this possible?"
He muttered in astonishment.
As a master of Water Release, Tobirama could create vast bodies of water even in arid environments, specifically to counter the Uchiha's Fire Release.
Yet, Tekka had matched his water jutsu with fire.
Interesting.
"Now's not the time to daydream," Tekka's voice interrupted as he formed seals again, summoning three lifelike fire dragons that lunged at Tobirama from three directions.
Fire Dragon Flame Bullet.
"You think your fire can overcome my water?"
Tobirama scoffed, his fighting spirit ignited. He quickly formed seals, summoning a massive water dragon.
Water Dragon Bullet Technique.
This Jutsu, originally requiring 44 seals, had been modified by Tobirama only to need four, and his water dragon could absorb other ninjutsu's chakra.
"Roar!"
The fire and water dragons clashed, entwining in a fierce struggle before dissipating simultaneously.
A stalemate.
However, Tobirama's opponents weren't limited to Tekka.
Chisaki appeared silently behind Tobirama, forming seals and exhaling a cluster of fireballs resembling phoenix flowers.
Hmm?
Tobirama turned, discerning her trick.
Her technique seemed less powerful than Tekka's, not posing a significant threat.
But in reality, hidden within each fireball was a shuriken.
"Using Fire Release to obscure the enemy's vision, with shuriken as the true attack. It's a combination technique of shuriken and fire. In that case, I'll counter with this."
Analyzing quickly, he formed seals.
Swoosh.
A circular water wall rose around Tobirama, rotating rapidly to provide a complete defense.
Water Encampment Wall, is another of his improved water techniques.
Yet, Tobirama had misjudged.
He had seen only the second layer of the attack, missing the third.
Chisaki's true strike wasn't the fire's heat or the shuriken's sharpness but the faint blue-white chakra enveloping the shuriken.
Amatsumikaboshi.
This was her Mangekyo ability, summoning the mythical "Divine Wind" to imbue her weapons with immense cutting power.
The highest level of Wind Release.
Tobirama's Water Encampment Wall couldn't withstand Amatsumikaboshi.
Thwack, thwack, thwack.
The shuriken sliced through the spinning water wall, embedding in Tobirama, cutting his body like butter.
The water wall dispersed.
Tob
irama lost an arm and a leg, his chest pierced, seemingly mortally wounded.
Did they succeed?
Chisaki's hopeful thought was quickly shattered.
Tobirama's body, though wobbling, didn't collapse. Dust gathered, restoring him as if nothing had happened.
But Chisaki's strike had an effect: it knocked off Tobirama's hood, revealing his face.
"Reanimation Jutsu? This Water Release and that face, you're..."
Tekka's eyes blazed, recognizing Tobirama, "The Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju!"
So, they recognized him.
"You Uchiha have used my Reanimation Jutsu before, no wonder you recognized it. Yes, I am Tobirama Senju."
Tobirama's calm gaze fixed on Tekka.
"Enough talk. Seal him!"
Chisaki charged, her blade once again imbued with the unstoppable Amatsumikaboshi.
Reanimation bodies, though regenerating, took time. During this interval, sealing was the best option.
She aimed to slice and seal Tobirama in one swift move.
"You underestimate me, young lady."
Tobirama coldly declared. As Chisaki neared, he threw a kunai at lightning speed.
You think that can hit me?
Chisaki smirked, easily dodging with her Sharingan-enhanced reflexes, ready to strike Tobirama.
But the next moment.
Swoosh.
Tobirama vanished, moving as fast as a flicker.
"Chisaki, behind you!" Tekka's warning sent chills down her spine, sensing danger.
Tobirama had reappeared behind her, grasping the kunai she dodged, aiming for her heart.
Flying Thunder God, Second Step.
The technique allowed the user to teleport to a marked kunai, launching a surprise attack.
Tobirama had used this to kill Madara's brother, Izuna.
The speed left enemies no time to react, making it a fatal blow even for Uchiha with their Sharingan.
In a critical moment.
Buzz.
Chisaki's left eye unleashed a mysterious power, forming a semi-transparent barrier around her.
Heavenly Rock.
Her other Mangekyo ability, a near-absolute defense.
Snap.
Tobirama's kunai broke against the barrier.
Hmm.
Surprised for a moment, Tobirama saw Tekka rushing to aid Chisaki. He leapt back, maintaining distance.
"A troublesome Mangekyo jutsu."
Tobirama's gaze grew serious.
At that moment.
Swoosh, swoosh.
Dozens of Uchiha reinforcements arrived, clad in high-collared blue robes, encircling Tobirama.
Leading them were Fugaku and Itachi Uchiha.
