[Narrator's P.O.V]
John was currently facing off against the purple-haired god tier that was Seraphina... With a plate containing a piece of triple chocolate cake in his hand.
He started," Here is the deal; I won't give my precious little slice of cake. You had quite some time to get here to do so yourself."
"Is he crazy?!" the entire mess hall erupted, with people arguing whether he was stupid or maybe held a hidden trick up his sleeve.
"What a fucking idiot."
"That's what they all said and they were all crushed without an exception."
"He said his ability name was Channel Master or something... it sounds pretty strong to me."
"Yeah, and he easily destroyed Holden before anyone could react. He might just last more than a second against her."
"Nah bro, you are on some serious copium. He's gonna take the biggest L of his life."
"For real."
"Facts."
"Bro stop glazing, we know you have a crush on her. Face the facts man, he might win."
(A/N: I'll stop it here, sorry if it was cringe. If it was though, drop your best "that's cringe" meme lol.)
The queen of Wellston narrowed her eyes, whilst the intense light emitted from the grew brighter.
"Don't make me repeat myself," the blue-eyed girl uttered.
"Like I said, no. You can't change my mind. However, before you try and beat me up, what do you say we settle this matter outside," John proposed while activating his own power and putting down his plate of cake.
Unfortunately for the raven-haired god-tier, Seraphina ignored his words.
She quickly ran towards him, whilst her surroundings lost their color, and threw a punch at his face.
John felt her aura attempting to hold him down, though his own prevented that. She was still pretty fast and strong obviously with speeds approaching 9.5 even without her usage of time freeze.
He barely managed to avoid her first strike, but that was all the time he needed to copy her ability.
It was just that complex, requiring seconds to copy despite his trick being at 20.
With her ability being copied, her already abnormally high power, speed, and recovery had been enhanced since her defense was her lowest statistic and his trick was already maxed out.
Couple that with his ability's base defense stat of 7 and he was now nothing short of a monster.
'It would be stupid of me to not store this ability for later use,' John thought to himself.
'One top-tier ability down, three more to go,'
Seraphina recoiled in shock after bearing witness to the aftermath of her attack.
"You can still move? How?!" Seraphina practically demanded.
"Really? Now you want to ask questions? It isn't exactly the time to do so," John told her.
"We can stop if you want though," He proposed.
"I'm down to simply ending this right now in a civil manner. What do you say?" He extended his hand for a handshake.
"...Fine," she grit her teeth before deactivating her ability and leaving.
Time resumed its course, leaving John standing in the middle of the cafeteria expecting a handshake he wouldn't get.
"What just happened?"
"Seraphina just left"
"None of them are injured, does that mean it's a draw?"
The ramblings of the small crowd continued, whilst our MC simply went to join his friends at the table.
"Sooo... You gonna eat that?" Elia asked playfully.
"Duh, you thought I was going to give it to you?"
The other two chuckled.
"Is that the only thing you're going to eat though?" Adrion remarked.
"..."
"Right, you didn't think of that,"
"You're smart in school and in fights, but outside of that you still manage to be so dumb, lol," Claire laughed while shaking her head.
Adrion simply looked at her before turning his gaze back at John.
"So what happened there with that Seraphina girl?" He inquired.
"Nothing much, just copied her ability then we talked a little. Good for her since we settled things like adults," John replied back.
"I take it no one won then."
And with that, the day continued...

(Later that day)
-Kovoro Mall, mask shop-
"I'll take the Executioner hood and the Pikachu face mask." We could hear John telling the vendor.
"Very well, your total is 15.98 dollars,"
After that, the employee put the purchases in a paper bag and our main character left in the direction of another shop.
He purposely didn't invite the others because he was shopping for things that would be used in dangerous situations.
And he wasn't going to put his friends in danger just in case he somehow got caught.
The Transmigrator then exited the Mall intending to go back home.

(Half an hour later)
-John's house-
[John's P.O.V]
*Click*
I opened the door and was greeted with the welcoming sight of the clean living room. I sighed, due to the long road that was ahead of me. From here on out, this was my haven. It would be here that I would do the planning for the undoing of the authorities, Ember, and Spectre.
