"Why are you here in the middle of the day?" Nerae asked, his voice showing none of the exhaustion evident all over his body. "Should I be worried?"

Jarrett forced down all of the things he had been about to blurt out, well aware that Nerae was only tolerating his presence and if the other Angel saw him overstepping, his little access to him would be cut short.

"I barely did anything," He shrugged, looking down. "Your hired hand has been at the bakery every single day and he said I should give this to you." He stepped forward and handed the basket to him.

He hoped that the stunned expression on Nerae's face was pleasant surprise, ducking his head and stepping back. "I need to return to my shop now, I hope you return to your bakery too, my business is suffering you know!" He said in a rush, a half-smile on his face as he turned around and walked away.
