章節 1: Life carries on (Prolouge)
It's been two months since the League of Villains incident. The city is in ruin, the people are scared and worst of all, the hero system is breaking apart. Heroes are quitting almost everyday and the public has lost all hope in them. Low-profile villains have been running rampant down the ruined streets of this city, pillaging and taking anything they can because no one can do anything about it anymore. It's every man for themselves down there. It's chaos.
Shigaraki's actions has left a large scar on this once peaceful city, and looking from above this decaying building, weathered and worn by the relentless passage of time, one can see a haunting sight. From this vantage point, you can witness the grandeur of a bygone era, now trapped in a tragic state of ruin. But what can you do really? Nothing. Even with seven quirks, the power of seven wielders inside my fragile body, I'm powerless to change anything.
Throughout these past months, I've been chasing and scouting over this poor city, picking off random villains and throwing them in jail. It's the least I could do in order to at least try to recapture that sense of safety for the public before all of this happened. Trying to avoid All For One at the same time has been challenging, but with my quick 'Smokescreen', I make sure to grab the villain with relative ease and no one sees my identity. The police don't know who I am, the public doesn't know who I am, but worst of all...
I don't even know who I am anymore.
My friends in 1-A, my mother, All Might, my teachers, I've seen none of them in these last two months. I've been so desperate for anything or any kind of social interaction, a simple 'Hi', a wave, or maybe even a hug...? No. I can't think about that at all. I know that the second I give into weakness, All For One will kill the people I love in an instant. I'm a broken mess at this point. My once shiny green costume has been reduced to nothing but torn, dusty dark green cloth I use to cover myself, held together by nothing but sheer will. I have nothing in my life to make it worth living anymore, and as long as All For One is still alive, it will never change. My life parallels this dying city, every small action, every little I villain I fight only prolongs it's eventual fall.
"I can't die. Not yet. I have a city to save, it won't fall....right? No, of course not. Why am I thinking this? Would All Might think like this? No, of course he wouldn't."
I start to smack my own head a couple times to stop these intrusive thoughts.
"Stop Deku. Stop thinking like this. You'll be fine. The city will be fine. Just...push through this until you finally KILL All For One. Y-yeah! This will stop if he's dead! Nothing matters except his death! Not your friends! Not your city! Not even yourself, right Deku!?"
...
I take a moment of silence, before I drive myself down this path any more. I lay there on the rooftop of this building, and look down onto the city. There's something running down there, with an ATM dragging along behind it.
A villain? Dragging an ATM and running with it in broad daylight? What has this city come to...? Whatever, let's get this done with. I need to get rid of these thoughts, and this is probably a perfect way to distract myself for a little while. Hope he has a cool quirk, I love seeing some unique quirks of all the random villains I've fought on the streets. Actually fought is a weird word, I guess captured is a better word? Cause there wasn't really a fight, I just kinda knocked them unconcious...Alright, let's go.
I plummet from the crumbling rooftop, my life flashing before my eyes, a moment of clarity emerged amidst the chaos. Mirroring my descent, my gaze met the fractured reflection in the buildings dusty glass windows of a broken person, with torn clothes blowing in the wind.
"I really should get some sleep..., my eyes look so dead inside, huh?
Oh wait, the ground."
Just before I hit the cold concrete floor, I use my quirk 'Blackwhip' to swing to another building and use 'Float' to stay in place as I scan the streets, unable to find the villain from earlier.
"Damn it, I lose focus for two seconds and I lose that villain as well...wait, there it is!"
I spot a human, but he seems to be much larger than your average person, which spikes coming from his fingers that seem to penetrate the ATM, and making it easier for him to drag it along. I dash through the air towards him.
There he is. ATM machine stealing though? That's so old school. He also only has a basic spiky claws quirk, damn, was really hoping to see something cool tonight. Whatever, just deal with him quick and fast Deku, no need to play around.
Then, out of the corner of my eye, suddenly I spot it. A slight glimmer of yellow-ish brown hair dashing in an alleyway below me. That hair can't be mistaken for anyone else. Himiko Toga, from the League Of Villains. She seems to be quite fast, sprinting along the alleyway and getting to its end in a matter of seconds before sprinting down another.
"Is she looking for something? Ugh, I got something to deal with too...whatever, I'll leave that Claw guy, someone will take care of him soon enough. The literal League of Villains is more important."
I turn my body and use float to dash in the claw villain's opposite direction, towards Toga. I'm still high above the buildings, unable to be noticed unless someone looks straight up.
"If I use the buildings, she shouldn't see me, hopefully. Maybe she'll lead me to their headquarters, that'd be nice. Then I could finally KILL All for One...and get my life back...or maybe....something else?"
