His dark, bushy eyebrows creased into the shape of a "V," giving him an intimidating appearance. It struck me with such force that I was almost compelled to give in to the overwhelming urge to run my finger along the lines that it formed.

However, my capacity for sound reasoning and self-control had not completely vanished from my mind, which is unfortunate for the more irrational side of me.

I locked my hands behind my back by tightly interlacing my fingers with each other while silently pleading with my body to remain in that position before I did something incredibly stupid.

"Leave us!" Cedric ordered with an unreadable expression. 

I really, really wanted to be able to read his emotions from the expression on his face but it was impossible. 

Was he getting ready to blow off some steam? Will he accuse me of giving him a fit and causing him to pass out? Was he going to find someone to place the blame on and punish for his current situation?
