The receptionist politely refused, "Sorry, without an appointment I'm unable to help, it's the policy."

Xiang Wan frowned, feeling it was just as well she didn't go up since Zuo Xingyun might not accept the check in person.

She put the check at the bottom of the bag containing the desserts, "Then can I leave this here and you pass it on for me?"

The receptionist nodded, indicating that she could leave the items.

Xiang Wan told her to make sure it reached Zuo Xingyun's hands before she left.

Not long after she left, the receptionist intended to deliver the items upstairs and happened to run into Xun Lu while entering the elevator.

Xun Lu, eyeing the 'Cloud Dessert House' print on the dessert bag in the receptionist's hand, asked coldly, "What's this?"

The receptionist explained, "A lady just asked me to pass this to Mr. Zuo, I was about to take it up."
