She had been worried, thinking something serious had happened to her friend, but in the end, the pleasant news was what they were gifted with.

"I'm anticipating Ivan's reaction when he hears this." Duncan folded his arms, and Lucy nudged him a bit on his shoulder, stealing his attention from Brian.

"That makes you an uncle, right? And I'm going to be the future Aunt! This is so exciting! I'm just glad we were worried for nothing." she beamed, and at this point, Duncan was unable to keep a straight face. A soft smile graced his lips at her cute, genuine reaction to the news, and he simply gave Lucy a gentle pat on the head before walking away.
