The second guest room wasn't far from where they had stopped to talk with Alain, but by the time they made it to the room that was given to Cassian and Maddie, little Alain opened the door and stepped in first, while Samantha and her brother waited patiently outside. On the way here, Maurice had tried to get his sister to talk about why she had insisted on seeing Maurice's parents; she had gotten him worried due to her frozen reaction earlier, but each time he tried to get her to explain what happened, she always gave him the same, "I'll explain everything later" kind of answer– an answer he never fancied.
