Samantha could swear she remembers hearing a voice like that from somewhere, but it wasn't the type of voice that brought peace to her heart, it was the type of voice that sent the hairs on her skin standing at attention, the type that sent her heart beating with dread, and when she dared to turn her head to confirm her suspicions, her face dramatically paled like she had tumbled on the forbidden, and she stumbled back in shock.

There were four of them that emerged from a corner, the caretaker, whom she remembered to be Officer Regan, and the remaining three who were workers in the slave establishment she was held in. Their gaunt faces, their heavy breathing, and the tiredness in their eyes proved they were on the run, but after sighting her, a look of amusement flashed within their irises. 

These men were slave traders.
