章節 20: The Wedding Ceremony

The Park and Min families had arrived at the wedding venue, attentively observing the ongoing preparations. The Kim and Jung families also arrived, one after the other, adding to the atmosphere of anticipation. Jin and Namjoon caught sight of each other, their eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and longing.

Jin turned to his father, wanting to find solace in his presence and seeking a moment of solitude.

"Dad, I'm going to the room. Call me once it's time," Jin whispered, his voice carrying a hint of sadness.

Mr. Kim nodded, understanding his son's need for space, as Jin departed with Tae by his side.

Namjoon overheard Jin's departure and decided to remain in the hall, patiently waiting for the wedding to commence. He was deep in thought, contemplating the complexity of their situation.

Suga approached Namjoon, accompanied by Hobi, offering words of encouragement and support.

"Joona, we're all here for you and Jin Hyung. Please be strong," Suga expressed, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Namjoon acknowledged their presence with a nod and managed to muster a faint smile, appreciating their unwavering support.

Meanwhile, the priest called upon Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung, signaling the time to gather the grooms for the commencement of the wedding ceremony.

"Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung, let's gather the grooms. It's time to start the wedding," the priest announced.

Both Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung acknowledged the priest's words, agreeing to take a brief moment before proceeding.

Namjoon, recognizing the call, stepped forward and positioned himself at the altar, ready to fulfill his role as the groom.

Mr. Kim, however, intended to fetch Jin but was intercepted by Mrs. Kim, who halted his departure.

"Honey, you wait. I will go and call him," Mrs. Kim insisted, her voice laced with determination.

Mr. Kim consented, understanding his wife's desire to make amends with their son. He remained in place, his eyes following her as she went to summon Jin.

Mrs. Kim knocked gently on the door before entering, her heart heavy with remorse.

"Son, let's go. Father is calling the grooms to start the wedding," Mrs. Kim spoke softly, her voice filled with a mix of hope and apology.

Tae, ever the supportive younger brother, joined the conversation.

"Let's go, Hyung. Be strong," Tae encouraged, standing by Jin's side.

Mrs. Kim embraced Jin, her arms enveloping him with love and remorse.

"Son, please forgive me. I don't want to hurt you," Mrs. Kim pleaded, her voice tinged with sorrow.

Jin, his heart torn between anger and forgiveness, responded with a gentle reassurance.

"Mom, please don't cry. I will try to forgive you, but I need time. It's not easy for me to forget everything and move on," Jin expressed, his words reflective of the internal struggle he faced.

Mrs. Kim understood her son's pain and respected his need for time to heal.

"Sure, son. Take your time. Let's go," Mrs. Kim replied, her voice filled with understanding and acceptance.

With Mrs. Kim leading the way, Jin and Tae followed closely behind, making their way towards the ceremony, where their paths would intersect once again.

Namjoon stood at the altar, his gaze fixed on the front, awaiting the start of the ceremony. Hobi, standing behind him, whispered, causing Namjoon to turn his head.

"Hobi, what is it?" Namjoon inquired, curiosity evident in his voice.

Hobi, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes, motioned towards the entrance, indicating that Jin had arrived. Namjoon's heart raced with anticipation as he yearned to catch a glimpse of his love, eager to see how Jin looked as he walked down the aisle.

Their eyes locked the moment Jin entered the room, both captivated by each other's beauty. The corners of their lips curved into a slight smile, quickly fading as the realization struck that they were not marrying each other.

Namjoon turned away, his back facing Jin, while Jin lowered his gaze, the weight of their unfulfilled love heavy on his shoulders.

However, Jin's attention was suddenly diverted as he noticed his mother gesturing for him to come towards Namjoon, rather than the opposite side where he was supposed to stand. Confusion filled his mind.

Unbeknownst to Namjoon, a wave of shock swept through the room, leaving everyone astonished, except for the parents of the grooms who appeared unfazed.

Mrs. Kim called out to Namjoon, prompting him to turn around. As he did, he was taken aback by the sight of Mrs. Kim standing alongside Jin.

"Joona, he is all yours," Mrs. Kim declared, offering Jin's hand to Namjoon.

Jin, bewildered by the sudden turn of events, voiced his confusion to his mother.

"Mom, what's going on? What is all this?" Jin questioned, searching for answers.

Mrs. Jung, with a sense of urgency, urged Namjoon and Jin to proceed.

"Joona, come on, son. Take Jin's hand before your aunt changes her decision," Mrs. Jung interjected, her voice carrying a mixture of determination and urgency.

Without hesitation, Namjoon seized Jin's hand and swiftly guided him to the altar, standing side by side.

The unexpected turn of events elicited laughter from the onlookers, adding a moment of lightheartedness to the tension-filled atmosphere.

Mrs. Kim, sensing the need for clarification, suggested completing the wedding ceremony before addressing their questions.

"Let's finish this wedding, and then I will answer your questions," Mrs. Kim proposed, her words carrying a mix of assurance and intrigue.

As Namjoon and Jin looked into each other's eyes, tears of happiness welled up, reflecting the depth of their emotions. However, their inability to express these feelings verbally only added to the intensity of the moment. The wedding ceremony commenced, marking the beginning of their new journey together.

The priest's voice filled the air, solemnly reciting the vows that would bind Namjoon and Jin in matrimony. Their hearts beat with anticipation as the weight of the promises they were about to make settled upon them.

"Do you, Kim Namjoon, take Kim Seokjin to be your wedded husband...?" the priest's voice echoed.

Namjoon's response was unwavering as he declared, "I do," and gently slipped the wedding ring onto Jin's finger.

The priest then turned his attention to Jin, posing the same question.

With unwavering resolve, Jin answered, "I do," and placed the wedding ring on Namjoon's finger.

The priest's declaration resonated through the room, proclaiming Namjoon and Jin as husbands. The air was filled with a mixture of emotions and a sense of profound unity.

At the priest's prompt, Namjoon stepped forward, his hands finding their place on Jin's waist and neck. The anticipation peaked as their lips met, initiating a tender kiss. Their eyes closed, savoring the soft touch and cherishing the harmonious rhythm that flowed between them. Their smiles, despite the tears streaming down their faces, radiated pure joy.

They finally pulled away from the kiss, their lips glistening, and gently wiped away each other's tears. The overwhelming happiness of being married and being together resonated within their souls.

Their families, friends, relatives, and guests surrounded them, offering heartfelt congratulations and blessings, showering them with love and support as they embarked on their married life.

Mrs. Kim's words hung in the air, filling the room with a mix of relief and surprise. Jin and Namjoon listened attentively, their hearts swelling with gratitude for their mother's efforts.

Mrs. Kim's voice quivered with emotion as she continued, "Jin and Joona, please forgive your Eomma for giving you both a hard time. I wanted to give you both a surprise, which is why I asked everyone to keep it a secret."

Namjoon spoke up, his voice filled with sincerity, "Mom, there's no need to apologize. We understand that whatever decisions you make for us are always for our own good. I'm sorry on behalf of Jin for his behavior, which may have caused you pain."

Jin, his eyes glistening with tears, added, "I'm truly sorry, Mom. Please forgive me. I'll make it up to you for all the hard times I've put you through during these past six months."

Mrs. Kim's face softened, and she reached out to gently cup Jin's cheek. "There's no need for apologies, my darling," she said, her voice filled with love. "This is your honeymoon gift. After the party today, you both are leaving for a month-long honeymoon. Enjoy your time together, have fun, and make beautiful memories."

A wave of excitement washed over Jin and Namjoon as they realized the magnitude of their mother's surprise. Their eyes met, reflecting the joy and anticipation they shared for the upcoming honeymoon.

As the party drew to a close, their loved ones bid farewell to Jin and Namjoon, wishing them a fantastic honeymoon filled with love and adventure. The couple left the venue, hand in hand, ready to embark on their journey of togetherness and exploration.
