During his moment of misery, Dylan stood back up and began to subdue the noise of the sand with a rhythm, turning the noise into a musical flow within his mind. This took away his boredom.
Out of curiosity, Dylan would gather heaps of sand and gaze at them simultaneously. He saw things he had never seen before and things that he could only see in dreams within these sand grains.
Dylan began to understand and notice that each sand grain simultaneously contained different pictures and sounds. For the first time since forever, Dylan yawned, not out of boredom but out of tiredness. He couldn't notice his tiredness as he was engaged in something very exciting.
Dylan fell asleep with a smile on his face because he had just made a great discovery.
"Dylan, wake up; you're late," said a young girl's voice in the background.
Dylan then saw himself lying on the sofa in their living room. He had a moment of doubt and disbelief as he couldn't believe what had happened.
"I was just in. How did I get here?" he said immediately in a very unhappy way. Dylan had already grown fond of the place he was lost in, but sadly, to his understanding, it was all just a dream.
