"Ugh…" Katherine grunted. The pain in parts of her body felt paralyzing. 'No. I can't die now.'

She tried crawling away in a futile attempt to escape. However, she knew deep in her heart this could be her end. Yet, she still tried. No matter how imbalanced and cruel she was, she was just like anybody else in the face of death. 

They would kill and even torture others but were too afraid to face their deaths. 

"I got to…" she trailed off when she sensed a person's presence in her vicinity. Rolling on her back, her mouth parted, eyes wide. Katherine held her breath, staring sternly at the pair of eyes hovering over her.
