Fiona sighed, and although she looked sad, traces of a smile were visible on her face. "Declan, Mia is a good friend. I think she's just trying to help me because I'm her friend. She believes she's not well enough to handle the gigs that the C.E.O. had promised her, and she promised to recommend me instead." She looked at Mia with affectionate eyes and wiped invisible tears from her face. "That's why when I heard about her health, I had to rush over. I can't stand seeing such a loyal friend being sick without someone by her side."
Declan raised a brow. "Thanks, Fiona, but your help is not actually needed. I'm by Mia's side, and I can take care of her. I think you should leave now."
