章節 152: Opener

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!"

"The princess!! Wow, I'm making my way there right now. Who wants autographs with me? Don't all rush at once!"

"Could someone please fill me in on what's happening with The Rex?"

The sudden Weibo post left many TMY fans in disbelief. Whether it was TMY appearing in the Ultra audience or taking a photo with The Rex, both events carried significant meaning.

Especially the photo of The Rex with T/A.

It's common knowledge that internet users are well aware of the competition and conflicts between TMY and The Rex. Their past clashes even involved many industry insiders.

But now, they're standing side by side?

Could this be a message... Have T/A and The Rex reconciled?

Can these two really put their differences behind them?

Many were initially shocked and couldn't believe it. However, after seeing fans speculate about their reconciliation, they couldn't help but consider a possibility.

Was the issue ever The Rex?

Now that The Rex wasn't very active in the electronic music scene anymore and even issued an apology to TMY after the Nova Awards, both artists' respective fanbases have had time to rethink the situation.

Sure, The Rex had antagonized TMY by roping her into the "Street Dance" song contest, but was that his fault? He wasn't the one that caused his fanbase to attack TMY just for her song "Fox" beating "The Dodo."

But based on his personality, why wouldn't he challenge her anyway? She was a brand new producer, having released only one song; of course the domineering personality of "The Rex of old" would see that as a personal attack!

Even so, if TMY had lost, what would have happened? A producer who had released one song total, lost against the future King of electronic music, as well as the up-and-coming pop star, Cheng Xiaofan; Wouldn't that have been completely normal?

Besides, both fanbases were relatively calm until Cheng Xiaofan's fans arrived and broke the stalemate...

As fans contemplated this, their anticipation for this year's Ultra Music Festival grew, especially for those already at the venue. They were almost bursting with excitement, expressing their intention to join TMY's side.

At this moment, the main stage gate swung wide open, and the first live performance was about to commence. It was a two-hour set by a renowned DJ from Sweden.

Many fans were already chanting the DJ's name, creating an impressive sea of people beneath the magnificent main stage.

The sound engineer had gone up to prepare the equipment and began playing some simple electronic music.

"So loud," Miaoyi whispered, furrowing her brow. As the engineer was just running a sound check, the settings still needed to be refined. Even though the music was playing just to check the soundstage, the uncomplicated and somewhat unpleasant electronic music didn't sit well with her.

Even though the crowd around her was cheering, she couldn't help but wonder, "Is this really that great? Was I expecting too much?"

But whether she liked it or not, she had to endure it. After all, she was already at the venue, and turning back now would be a waste.

Miaoyi shifted her attention to the massive main stage, which stood several stories tall and was adorned with dazzling lights. Despite it being daytime, the visuals were stunning, and after adjustments, the speaker arrays had been cleverly positioned to avoid any acoustic interference, delivering perfect sound.

As the sound engineer fine-tuned the settings, the music started to improve, and Miaoyi's expression finally brightened.

It must be acknowledged that the stage was quite high-end. It was no wonder it was part of mainstream culture, and it was just as impressive as the top electronic music festivals in her previous world.

Looking at Qiuying beside her, both of her large eyes were now fixed on the main stage. The expression in her eyes wasn't much different from that of ordinary fangirls. Clearly, she had been swept up in the electrifying atmosphere of the live event.

Miaoyi nodded in approval. This was a positive development; at least Qiuying was no longer anxious. This would bode well for their performance tomorrow.

After all, for the two young girls, it was their first time on such a grand stage. Anyone claiming they could handle it without any preparation would be lying.

Even Miaoyi was feeling nervous. She would be performing in front of at least 15,000 people, which meant every mistake she made would be filmed from 5 different angles. She worried that if she went on stage tomorrow she might be the one to succumb to nerves instead!

The countdown to the first DJ's performance was five minutes away.

However, fans had already spotted Miaoyi and Qiuying and were eager to take pictures with them.

"There they are! Hurry, let's go!"

"Oh my goodness, it's the Little Princess! Look, it's Sensei TMY! Come on, our group is here for autographs!"

"AAAHH! I'VE DIED AND BEEN REBORN!!!"

Suddenly, pandemonium broke loose in the nearby crowd. People were shoving left and right, and then, a swarm of folks appeared, looking like they'd just hopped off a clown car.

When Miaoyi first heard the ruckus and turned around, her heart did a little cha-cha. But it wasn't until she faced the chaos that she nearly blurted out, "Holy Moly!"

"Wow... oh my..." Her words came to a screeching halt.

Because there were seriously loads of people...

One... two... three... thirty...

She tried to count, but quickly Miaoyi became French and waved the white flag.

It seemed like over a hundred folks, all waving "[T/A.NO1]" banners and decked out in matching T-shirts, perfectly synchronized.

Miaoyi: "..."

Qiuying +1: "..."

The Rex Express Delivery Guy +2: "..."

Is this really just a fan squad?

"You..." Miaoyi knew it was inevitable for her to be spotted. She'd already posted on Weibo, so there was no dodging it. She reluctantly took off her sunglasses and felt like she needed a nap. "Did you all seriously come as a herd?"

But the answer hit her like a disco ball to the head.

"Absolutely! We're a group of fans from the fan club!"

"Autographs and selfies, please! I'm gonna brag about this for a lifetime!"

"And there should be more people dressed like this, probably over eight hundred all over this place, all from our organization."

While Miaoyi was feeling a bit drained of energy, Qiuying remained a beam of sunshine. She found the fans to be absolutely adorable. "Welcome, everyone! There will definitely be autographs and photos, no rush."

Her smile struck like Cupid's arrow, piercing hearts left and right.

"Is she an angel?"

"Mom, I see the holy spirit..."

"She's definitely the Goddess Jing Qiuhua... so sweet."

At this point, all the fans present had similar thoughts.

They felt that Qiuying was shining brightly at this moment, even to the female fans.

Miaoyi let out a soft sigh.

There was no escaping it. Miaoyi was getting a taste of a die-hard fandom firsthand for the first time. She couldn't turn down some autograph and photo requests from the fans. But when she heard that there were over eight hundred more dressed like this, she briefly wondered if it was too late to delete her Weibo post.

After a round of scribbles and snapshots, these fans didn't seem in a hurry to split. They all wanted to get up close and groove with their idol. Miaoyi was happy to oblige. Coincidentally, during the autograph frenzy, the opening act of the electronic music festival had already kicked off.

As the moment arrived, a deafening cheer erupted, and with a "whoosh," the main stage's light show came alive, and on the big screen, a DJ's personal logo slowly lit up.

"China! Let's go! I love you all!"

The DJ had taken center stage, a middle-aged man with a beard and slicked-back hair, sporting enough tattoos to make a biker gang jealous. He had this magnetic charm oozing from every pore. The moment he showed up, he became the main attraction, and all eyes were glued to him.
