章節 105: AMF

(A/N: Edited "Panta" to "Panda." I originally used "Panta" instead, but this chapter would sound odd if I continued using it. So, I'm switching to "Panda," and I updated the previous chapters as well.)

The Amsterdam Electronic Music Festival was massive. Spanning several days, the event regularly hosted the best DJs in the world.

Hosted by DJ Mag, it's also when the year's top DJs are announced.

For seasoned electronic music enthusiasts, this annual electronic music extravaganza is an unmissable event. Much like watching an awards show like the Oscars, every year, millions of fans tune in to watch the global live stream of the Amsterdam Electronic Music Festival.

This event is one of the world's largest electronic music festivals, standing shoulder to shoulder with renowned events like Ultra and Tomorrowland. Tickets are hard to come by each year and almost every electronic music fan dreams of getting up close and personal with this festival at least once in their lifetime.

What sets the Amsterdam Electronic Music Festival apart and qualifies it as a world-class event alongside Ultra and Tomorrowland is its main organizer: DJ Mag. The festival's significance lies in its association with the annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJs awards ceremony.

Every year, the Amsterdam Electronic Music Festival unveils the rankings of the Top 100 DJs in the world, and these DJs take turns electrifying the festival with their performances.

Naturally, Miaoyi paid attention to this event. She wanted to see if the current edition of AMF differed in any way from the previous ones she had experienced in her past life.

The live stream would officially start at 8:30 p.m. local time, and the fans in China could also watch it without any barriers.

"By the way, Qiuying and I are going to watch the AMF later. Do you want to join us?" Miaoyi asked with a mischievous grin, addressing Yun Jie, who was happily munching on a bag of potato chips.

At that moment, Yun Jie, resembling a playful squirrel, held a jumbo-sized bag of chips. His cheeks bulged with every bite, not exactly the picture of an elite talent agent. He might even pass for a high school student if he were carrying a backpack.

Considering Miaoyi's invitation, Yun Jie thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I'll pass. It doesn't hold much meaning for me. Since you've brainwashed me with your electronic music, I haven't listened to anyone else's songs for ages. I'll choose to watch anime instead."

":)."

After some casual chat, Qiuying soon finished preparing dinner and emerged from the kitchen.

The three of them sat down to eat, with approximately four dishes and a soup.

There was a spicy dry pot of potato slices, black pepper beef bones, curry potato beef, and a stir-fried celery and scallop dish. As for the soup, it was a creation of Qiuying's—a sweet corn and apple pork rib soup with sea cucumber.

Although Yun Jie had been here for a while and had settled into his work effortlessly, he couldn't help but be amazed by the array of dishes each time.

Once Qiuying chased Miaoyi into the bathroom to wash up and they finished dinner, it was already 8:25 p.m.

The official livestream was just five minutes away, as the last finishing touches were being put in place before the performance.

Yun Jie showed no interest in the live stream, slipping back to his own room, probably to watch his favourite anime on his small television. This left Miaoyi and Qiuying in the living room, wirelessly connecting their phones to the TV.

They could watch the live stream on Modu-Panda, which happened to be an old friend that Miaoyi had collaborated with in the past.

As they entered the still pitch-black livestream room, Miaoyi logged in with a special high-level VIP account gifted by Panda Live.

Although the official broadcast hadn't started yet, there were already 1,007,200 viewers in the livestream room!

Though the barrage of comments had yet to flood the entire screen, the amount was undeniably substantial. Fans of electronic music from all corners of the world gathered together, engaging in lively conversations. Even the gifts were flowing in rapidly.

Miaoyi couldn't help but notice something odd about her Panda Live account balance. Opening her wallet, she was taken aback by what she saw: the balance of her account made her blurt out, "Holy f*ck!"

Panda Coins Balance: 999,999,999!

Remaining bamboo: ∞.

"No swearing!" Qiuying rubbed Miaoyi's delicate face and gave her a reproachful look. "You should act more like a lady."

"Yingying, we're rich!" Miaoyi's attention remained fixated on the balance of her Panda Coins. She didn't shift her focus and asked, "Can you see if there's any way to cash out those things?"

Qiuying sighed helplessly. "...So you've been thinking about that. Forget about it. It's probably a gift given to you internally by Panda Live. It's unrealistic to cash it out, but you can use it to support streamers."

"Why can others support them, but I can't withdraw what's given to myself?" Miaoyi pouted, displeased. "Since it's something I can use to support streamers, can't I just create a new account and start a live stream to receive the support?"

Miaoyi suddenly felt like a cunning little fox, as if she had stumbled upon a get-rich-quick scheme.

Qiuying didn't know what to say in response to Miaoyi's suggestion. "..."

Five minutes passed by quickly. The live stream screen transformed from pitch black to an actual video in the blink of an eye.

Taking advantage of the barrage of comments not yet overwhelming the screen, Miaoyi quickly clicked on the close button, feeling a surge of excitement.

On the screen, a large logo composed of vibrant red and blue fonts formed the letters "AMF." Following that, the emblem of DJ MAG also made its appearance.

The pair of top-notch speakers Miaoyi had prepared in the living room were finally emitting sound.

It began with a melodic piano intro, gradually decreasing in volume. The sound resembled that of a string instrument.

Soon, the identity of the instrument was revealed.

It was a court musician standing on a square in Amsterdam, surrounded by white pigeons. The musician was elegantly dressed in a royal gown, wearing the emblem of the Dutch Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. They sat gracefully next to a grand harp, delicately caressing the strings with their slender hands, occasionally accompanied by the flight of a pigeon.

The entire scene felt harmonious as if the court musician had stepped out of an oil painting—graceful and serene, their eyes fixed on the immense harp.

'The court musician of the Dutch Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra opens the performance...' Miaoyi nodded approvingly as she watched the live stream, unable to resist intently listening to the music from the Dutch royal court. 'It seems to follow the same opening theme as the AMF in my previous life on Earth.'

By now, the gift leaderboard in the live stream room was on the verge of exploding.

Even though Miaoyi had turned off the waves of comments, the massive banners displaying extravagant gifts continued to appear above densely.

Impatiently, Miaoyi activated the option to block gift notifications. This scene was indeed becoming a distraction from the live stream itself.
