章節 25: Jonah
The mood was damp as the members of Pride glanced at eachother.
"Why are you all so moody?" Michael entered in the mansion and looked at the PRIDE members.
"Nothing, we're just nervous." Leslie answered truthfully.
Doberman also entered behind Michael and asked, "Should I get the bodies inside?"
"Yes."
"Lead the way. I assume he has left you with a way to revive him right?" Michael asked.
"Yes he did. A machine that turns human bodies into pure energy that can be absorbed. However it's not ready yet." Victor said.
"Good. Lead the way."
Michael followed behind them as they entered a secret room.
When they entered the room, two coffins were in the middle, however they looked very.. 'mechanical'.
Doberman was behind them dragging some unconscious people.
The members of Pride looked nervous seeing 4 people being dragged while unconscious.
"Don't worry too much, even though they are just teenagers, they are killers and robbers who deserve death. In my opinion you guys are too limited in your ways. The fortune you've built is truly wasted on you." Michael said nonchalantly and then mentioned to Doberman to put one body to a coffin.
The others just smiled wryly and accepted the disgrace. Their group is made of great minds of bioengineering, technology and real estate, but they can say nothing infront of the tycoon that overtakes them in every field.
After Doberman shoved a boy inside the coffin and Victor closed it, Michael activated his vision and studied it carefully.
"It seems I know where the problem is.. When the energy tries to be stored inside the other coffin, it gets rejected due to the coffin releasing some of it outside. It means the way you built it is bad, the other aspects seems alright."
"How can you tell on such short time?" Victor asked. He has studied this thing and built it himself based on the blueprints Jonah has given him, but still couldn't find its fault.
"I'm not just an Avenger. I'm also a genius of my own, mind you." Michael neared the coffin and touched it. He infused his dimensional energy around the coffin. "This will make sure that the energy won't be released outside." The coffin carried a purple glow around it.
"You can start now." Michael mentioned.
"He needs to be awake, so we can give him this liquid." Leslie said, and pointed at the cup on one of the Yorkes.
Michael pointed his finger at the sleeping teenager and sent a zap of dimensional energy, causing him to get wide awake.
"What the hell is going on here? The boy looked around.
Doberman took the cup full of weird liquid out of the Yorkes hands and shoved it down the teenager's throat and stopped him from spitting it by closing his mouth and hitting him on the throat.
The members of Pride looked at this in shock. They were never like that. The people they sacrificed were all teenagers who had run away from their families and lied to them, making them think they were going to join their circle. However the way Michael did it was different and seemed way easier.
Victor closed the coffin and then started the process.
It didn't take more than seconds for the transaction to finish.
"Next.."
They repeated the same process three more times and the other coffin containing Jonah finally opened.
*Cough cough*
The blinding light coming from the coffin dissipated and revealed a naked man. A man on his thirties with black hair and blue eyes.
He looked around as he cracked his neck and then chuckled, "Well aren't you guys early for once."
"Well, you have something I want. That's the only reason you're out so early." Michael said.
Jonah looked at Michael and asked the others, "Newcomer?"
"He's the one who did most of the work reviving you." Leslie said and neared toward him.
"So who are you?" Jonah asked Michael.
"I'm Michael Redrose, someone who is interested on your little spaceship." Michael smiled.
Jonah narrowed his eyes, while the other were in shock.
"What is he talking about Jonah, what spaceship?" Leslie touched Jonah's arm.
Jonah rolled his eyes and than asked, "Can anyone just give me some clothes I can wear? I'm freezing. And why the hell are you all wearing red robes like some cult?"
Michael inwardly nodded at the statement. The members of PRIDE were all wearing red robes, apparently they do it everytime they need a sacrifice.
After Jonah was dressed, he looked at Michael suspiciously, "How do you know about my spaceship and what do you want with it?"
"I want a blueprint to it." Michael said nonchalantly.
Jonah scoffed, "You wouldn't be able to understand a single thing. Your technology is far from being able to replicate such a thing. Hell, I'm surprised you were able to build this damn coffin."
"You're behind with the times Jonah. Humans have evolved." Michael's energy fluctuated inside the entire room. Jonah's eyes were widened in shock as he looked at Michael.
"You're not from here are you?" He asked as he calmed down.
"I am from here. And as I was telling you. Humans have evolved. We have already contacted life from outside and our personal power has increased for two decades now. Some of our genes are awakened and some hidden powers have revealed themselves."
Jonah looked around still slightly in disbelief, "It's still impossible, the ship is built with materials that are nonexistent in this galaxy."
Michael rolled his eyes, "What I want is its inner workings and the way to convert matter into energy."
"And you think I'll give it to you just because you hastened by revival? Even though these guys are slow and jugdy, they would have gotten the job done." Jonah quipped.
Leslie rolled her eyes at Jonah's remark while Doberman was holding his laugh.. Cause it's true.
Every member of PRIDE is already a billionaire, however they have no clue in dealing with the darker side of things and are quite amateurish. They could have hired people in the black market to find the criminals teenagers and kidnap them for themselves, yet they choose to rely on the lost people that come around the church Leslie runs based on lies.
"Well, it's your choice actually. Even though you seem to be very strong, I can still kill you. Your body doesn't seem suited for your race and I actually have a way to kill you, permanently along with your other friends inside that dropship not far away from here." Michael said.
Jonah widened his eyes, "You already know where the ship is? Then why didn't you just take it instead of reviving me"
Michael sighed and said lazily, "Because I want to be fair and give you a chance. I'll also help you get out of here without needing to destroy the entire landscape of L.A."
