"She is a spy that Cassian sent to lure you. Why are you feeling like you're going to lose something precious?" He let go of Mary who was already unconscious and stared hard at Nicholas.

His gaze was cold and brutal as if he had found a child making a mistake.

"When you asked me to be part of your revenge, I thought you were ready to make sacrifices. But here you are, worried about a spy and fighting with me? It is not like I have killed her.

What was she doing in the hidden part of your chamber? Do not tell me that she was searching for you here. How did she know about that abandoned area anyway?" Nicholas stared at the girl with a sigh.

His eyes trembled at the thought of her death. Even the blind could see that it was not accidental. No one could reach that part of the palace if they did not know about it in advance.
