章節 103: Dance of the Dragon Kings

"How does it feel?" Smiling with both relief and interest a beauty with silver hair spoke curiously, her violet eyes lit with joy and curiosity. She was young at only twelve years old however she was a being of grace and beauty that not even adults could surpass. Her figure was petite like a dancer, her growth pushing her closer and closer to the epitome of beauty each day.

"It's… nice. I feel a little lighter." Flexing his muscles a crimson haired boy wasn't stricken with pain as he had gotten accustomed to. His crimson hair was short and his strikingly red eyes were both soft and strong, his usual edge dulled by the woman he had dedicated his very existence to.

Unlike her, his body was quite well built. It remained on the thinner side of things but it was clear his body was stronger than it looked. The two wore the Shrek student uniform, an unsurprising thing considering the atmosphere around the two. They radiated no observable pressure and yet it was clear for all to see they were strong. It was an instinctive revelation.

The two were rising stars in the cultivation world, names that anybody even slightly aware of its happenings would know. Tang Wulin the Dragon of Destruction and Gu Yuena the Elemental Saint, the pinnacle of brute force and control respectively.

Ranks 2 and 1 of the Genius Youth Ranking respectively, they dominated the rankings for as long as they had been in the public eye. Their rankings were actually somewhat of a heavily discussed topic in the world. Their battle at the tournament three years ago had become one of the most watched videos in the world and it was obvious that neither was capable of victory.

However, it was inevitable that one be ranked above the other. People argued that Gu Yuena's rank was deserved as she carried the most offensive power whereas others believed that Wulin was more deserving of the top spot as nobody could break through his defenses.

Unfortunately, this battle for the top ended in an unsatisfying manner. The Spirit Pagoda was the one who dictated who ranked where and they decided that Gu Yuena was stronger. They gave excuse after excuse but ultimately they wanted their Jewel to be number one.

Though the online world was set ablaze in indignation from both sides, neither Wulin nor Gu Yuena cared all that much. Instead, their attention remained on two goals that neither could ignore. Gu Yuena increased her standing among the Spirit Pagoda while Wulin focused on strengthening FUG using heavenly refined metals and four word battle armor.

It had taken him about a year and a half but he had healed enough to heavenly refine once a month or so. He had just recently finished granting the other five Slayers four word battle armors as a result but even that was more than enough to boost their strength beyond mortal limits.

"Want to test yourself? For old time's sake?" Grinning in excitement Gu Yuena hadn't had the opportunity to challenge her other half for three entire years. She had been looking forward to this for quite a while since nobody their age could rival them. Even fighting their teacher had gotten a bit stale as of late.

"If you'd like to lose." Smiling slightly Wulin's words lit a fire in her chest, her desire for battle ignited like never before. Maybe it was the fact that she was merging with the Golden Dragon King's blood faster than expected but she had gotten a tad more like her partner as of late.

"You're on." Accepting his challenge in a heartbeat she teleported the two of them over to their dedicated training area on the island in the center of the Sea God Lake. It was technically Wulin's as he was the student of Yun Ming not her but potato potato.

Wandering over to the wall at the side and pressing his palm a screen manifested before her partner, various details of the battle from the terrain all the way up to air concentration. It was an unrivaled training ground that really only somebody like Yun Ming should have available to him.

Ultimately though, it was a fair trade. After proving his heritage to Yun Ming with the help of the Ancient Golden Tree that had sensed the essence of Wulin's father within him the entirety of Shrek was technically Wulin's. He didn't want it and he couldn't inherit it easily but it was his birthright and none could deny it.

It was kept secret between Yun Ming and his wife alone but Yun Ming still managed to get the training area for him anyway. That was the official reason anyway. It was likely more to thank Wulin for helping him learn more about becoming a god and to hear the other students' complaints about Gu Yuena's battles.

"The usual rules?" Nodding her head without a second thought at Wulin's question she was excited to see the limits of his power. None of the settings particularly affected them anyway, her with her elemental affinity and him with his indomitable defenses.

Standing across from one another they seemed unperturbed, their stances calm and casual as they warmly albeit competitively gazed at one another. A mechanical voice counted them down, the tension one would expect from such a long awaited battle nonexistent as the corner of their mouths rose slightly.

"1." As soon as the mechanical voice finished its countdown, all hell broke loose. The earth was obliterated and dust concealed the arena. In the blink of an eye an explosion with enough force to level a city block ravaged the arena.

Soaring into the sky as if sucked by a vacuum the dust condensed into a small sphere before flying out of the arena and exploding a few hundred meters away. With the dust removed, the arena was once more revealed.

Standing around ten meters away the two dragon kings were the pinnacle of calm, the same intrigued glint in both their eyes. That clash was only just below that of two soul douluos in terms of destructive power. Even after three years of growth, the two were equals.

'I'm going to win.' But neither wanted to accept that, the same thought running through their mind at the same time as their smiles grew a tad crazed. They remained still for only an instant before they vanished once more, a blazing flame meeting flesh as they began their dance.

Finally, after three years, they could dance once more.

****

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

Nice to see you all again after a week. As you can see, both Gu Yuena and Wulin have grown immensely in the three years between volumes. They were both monsters but now they are truly in a tier of their own.
