章節 73: King vs God

Placing down his hammer Wulin looked at the metal before him. It moved and wiggled according to his will. It wasn't something he planned on using for Wu Zhangkong's battle armor since he wanted to make it as good as possible but it wasn't bad either.

It was something closer to a practice run. Very few people would see it and call it that but it certainly was. He had other uses for it of course however it would never make its way into a battle armor nor onto the market.

'I wonder what Seto will do with it.' Wulin thought to himself blandly as he tidied his forge. The walls were badly damaged and the ceiling had already begun falling down but it would be repaired by tomorrow so it doesn't really matter.

The metal he just created wasn't very good, not by Wulin's standards anyway, but it still had plenty of uses. A soul refined metal that had intelligence was rare enough but when it had a small portion of annihilation within it? Its value could never be measured.

For that reason, he planned on giving it to Seto to do with it as he pleased. As it was connected to his blood it was something Wulin would end up using so Seto would obviously try his best to make a masterpiece that even a god would be jealous of out of it.

Unlike usual, however, Wulin would be able to hand it over in person. It was rare that he met one of the Slayers in person, there was never a reason to, but today he had a reason. Actually, that wasn't correct. He didn't have a reason.

"Are you ready?" He asked his other half who waited for him in his dorm room. She was the one who had business with his right hand. Nodding resolutely Gu Yuena's face was absent of fear or worry. She wore an elegant express fit for a being of her standing.

Grasping her hand the two vanished in a flurry of silver sparkles, reappearing in a desolate and abandoned building. Tapping a few places on the wall while injecting his soul power it split open for him, luxurious and expensive decorations strung along the walls.

Walking inside without hesitation Gu Yuena was unfazed by the showing of wealth and prestige that lay before her. Soon enough the pair found themselves within a large conference room, a large round table where one person sat alone.

He sat elegantly, his posture immaculate and his glare piercing, yet Gu Yuena was far from scared. Even if the man before her was a Hyper Douluo and her identity had been revealed she felt no fear, he was her other half's ally after all.

"The Silver Dragon King I presume? I've heard plenty about you so don't bother introducing yourself. I'll be blunt, you hold no value. You may be talented but the only reason you can meet with us is because of our God. Show your worth or this conversation will not continue." His words were cold as expected.

"FUG is struggling right now, correct? You may not need them anymore but Spirit Souls are invaluable to your subordinates, right? I'll teach you how to make them. Of course, that is if you can defend yourself from the Spirit Pagoda." Gu Yuena offered, turning everything on its head.

Even if they were a hidden group, FUG was a large organization. Not all of their traces could be hidden and the Spirit Pagoda was hell bent on finding them. For the higher ranking members, it wasn't a huge issue, they had ways to hide themselves, but that wasn't true for everyone.

Hence, Gu Yuena's offer would sound like a much needed miracle at first glance. But in reality, all it would do would further anger the Spirit Pagoda. The Spirit Pagoda was strong precisely because they had such a strong monopoly of Spirit Souls.

If FUG, a very clearly enemy organization, gained access to the very same technology as them they would have even more reason to attack them. Suffice to say, that would be dangerous for FUG in its current state. It was a double edged sword to put it bluntly.

"You seem to have a misconception. Just because we stay away from the public eye does not mean we are weak. We are no weaker than the four great powers. But I'll entertain you. Why would you do something so directly against your goals?" Pephomemore inquired curiously.

"I want to use FUG as a shield. You should know the state of the Spirit Beasts, we can't endure for much longer. If the eyes of the Spirit Pagoda and Federation are only on FUG, we can move uninhibited." Gu Yuena revealed honestly, no trace of deceit in her eyes.

"I like you." Pephomemore declared abruptly, an off putting smirk on his face. "Very few have the courage to do what you did, much less so confidently. Very well. I'll offer you my support. FUG shall support you until your last breath." Pephomemore accepted easily, his smirk unchanged.

"Congratulations." Wulin declared blandly, lightly patting her on the shoulder. It felt as though he was merely replicating the actions of someone else but that was fine. It was something he would have never done years ago after all.

"My God, you said you had something to give me?" Pephomemore intruded upon their moment, his warm puppy like eyes filled with the most devotion Gu Yuena had ever seen. It was such a stark difference in attitude that Gu Yuena almost doubted her eyes.

But that was hardly surprising. Despite seeming the most mature of them all, Pephomemore Seto was easily the most fanatical of the Slayers. Despite their vastly different natures, all three Slayers bar her other half had been saved much in the same way.

Pephomemore Seto was a lab rat used by the Federation to spearhead soul power draining technology, Imort was something akin to the Golden Goose of a small time organization, and Hakm didn't need to be spoken of.

To them, the word God belonged to Wulin alone. It wasn't a matter of belief, it was a matter of pure insanity. No matter the lengths they had to go they would complete Wulin's every order to the letter.

"Mhm." Merely humming in response, Wulin tossed an extremely heavy piece of metal toward the Slayer. Catching it with ease Pephomemore practically glowed in pride, his eyes filled with the glee of a child meeting Santa.

It was a common metal really, only worth a few million credits at best. But in the hands of a future divine smith and Pephomemore Seto it may as well be a divine artifact already. All they had to do was wait.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

Wulin's getting another divine tool? What'll that be? Maybe a gun? I do like the image of somebody like Wulin running around with a glock but that doesn't seem to fit... Why don't you all leave your ideas here? Who knows, maybe one of you will get it right.
