章節 10: Trauma
The dinner continued without much issue even though Elena had an upset pouty face throughout
Jeremy and Bonnie had a couple short conversations which were constantly interrupted by Elena making it a awkward dinner time especially since she sounded exactly like Katerine
"I'll excuse myself" Jeremy said going to his bedroom when he looked at the time
It was almost the time for Katerine to call him and he could feel many emotions such as anger, fear and nervousness
He needed to convince her he was still a mindless spy inorder to catch her by surprise and stake her for the unspeakable things she did to him
Silence filled the air until his phone started to ring
After a second of hesitation he picked up the phone seeing that it was a different number then yesterday
Jeremy took a deep breath and accepted the call
"Hello" he replied in a emtionless tone that was very similar to how compelled people sounded
"Hi my favorite toy" Katerine replied in a seductive tone
"Would you like to recieve the report on Elena Gilbert" Hearing her voice made him sick but he had to fake it until he made it
"ahh Your no fun like this. Give me the report" she sounded disappointed
"Elena Gilbert has went out with her friend Bonnie Bennett who tried to cheer up Elena trying to get her back to some level of normal" Jeremy went on the explain what he noticed from Elena
"My doppelganger is such a crybaby oh well atleast it'll make my plans easier" She let out a sadistic laugh
"Anyway Jeremy I can't help but miss you I have no idea what you did but I keep craving for you, if incubas did exist then I wouldn't doubt you were one. Our moment at the hotel was so unforgettable that once I gain my freedom you'll be my slave for an eternity" she finished her rant then hanging up
Jeremy dropped his phone almost about to vomit just by remembering how she defiled him and her sick talk about keeping him as a slave
He couldn't believe that he use to think she was a cool character in vampire diaries
Jeremy wasn't even confident in facing Elena anymore since her voice and looks are identical besides the hair and outfit
After having brushed his teeth he went to sleep struggling but thinking of Caroline how their time together relaxed him enough to sleep
He woke up in the morning to Elena shaking causing him to back away in fear
"You ok Jer?" Elena felt his temperature to see if he had a fever
"No I'm alright I just had a bad nightmare" he swatted away her hand
Elena looked betrayed that Jeremy pushed her away like before
"Hey Jer if there is any issue you can talk to me so please don't shut me out again like when mom and dad died" she said about to shed tears
"I promise you Elena everything is ok I'm still just feeling a bit antsy in the morning" he replied trying to comfort her despite his own feelings about Katerine
"I'm sorry Jer that I'm overreacting, I just wanted to ask you to maybe stay away from Caroline since she is not a great influence and you should rely on me more" Elena said in a possessive tone
Jeremy looked at the clock "Elena it's 8AM go back to sleep and you shouldn't talk about your friend like that" he said annoyed that she was trying to separate him from the person he found comfort in
"Its because she's my friend that I know that she would be a bad influence for you. I'm serious Jer" she said before leaving him
"Is Elena compelled or something, her attitude is too suspicious" he said before closing his eyes to sleep for another hour
He woke up after a short nap due to being rudely woken up by Elena
Jeremy brewed tea mixing vervain into the tea without anyone noticing
Jeremy looked at the calendar in the kitchen to see that he only had a week before summer ends and he had to go back to school
"Thanks for breakfast" Jenna said to him while Elena was just playing around with her food clearly saddened
The door bell rang leading Jeremy to go open the door to go see who it was
Jeremy opened the door to see Caroline standing their in sports clothes looking energetic and happy
"Hey Caroline, what are you here for" Jeremy leaned against the door
"I want to take you somewhere today so grab your shoes and let's go unless you have something more important than me" she said the last part in a joking tone without telling him anything else
"Alright Caroline let me just go get changed first" he went to go change into his outdoors clothes
By the time he came down he could see Elena arguing with Caroline
"Leave my brother along he doesn't need people like you" Elena said with her arms crossed and pissed at her friend
"How could you say that to me? I thought we were friends" Caroline said hurt by what she was hearing from one of her best friends
"We are it's just I don't want you around Jer since you're a bad influence and we as a family me to stick together"
"Im not trying to cause a rift in your family I just want to hang out with Jer" Caroline confused at why Elena was overcomplicating things
"When DID YOU GET friendly enough to call him Jer" Elena lashed out at her further
Jeremy ran over to Caroline going between them
"What the hell Elena, calm down for a moment why are you freaking out so much" Jeremy asked her
"Don't you see what she's trying to do between us"
"She's just being a good friend and worried about me that's why I'm going with her somewhere today" he defended Caroline
"Yeah Elena I just wanted to bring him somewhere with me to have some fun" Caroline pulled Jeremy along with her
The two left leaving Elena furious at her friend but also wanting to imprison Jeremy somehow do he would never leave in her sick fantasies
They were jogging through the forest on a walkway
"Thanks for defending me Jer" Caroline said grateful at him
"Of course I would do that for you, I'm sorry about what happened with Elena she has been acting like that since I came back from my trip"
"It's not your fault or Elena's and I get that it must have been tough for both of you and she might have just been threatened I tried to take you away"
"No Caroline what Elena said was unacceptable despite what we're going through"
"Jer why did you take my side?" she asked curious
"I did it because you did nothing wrong and I guess I like you quite a lot" Jeremy scratched his head flustered
"Your such a romantic" Caroline started blushing, she smacked him on the back
Jeremy also did want to spend more time with Caroline not wanting to leave her alone since he wasn't sure if the timeline changeed and Damon targets her earlier then expected
He didn't worry much about Elena as Stephan was watching over her the entire summer
"So why are you taking me in the middle of nowhere? You planning on ditching my body in the forest" Jeremy joked
"We're here" she said excited
Jeremy was stunned by the beautiful scenery since in his previous life he hardly touched grass or left house unless he needed to.
The land was covered in lovely green trees around the area while the center had occupied a massive lake
"Why did you bring me here though" he absolutely loved the scenery by he was still confused as why he was here
"This is where me, Bonnie and Elena use to go after school to play. I was never too into nature since it was dirty but this place was always very calming for me"
"I wanted to take you here because I think you need this because of everything that happened to you"
Caroline held his hand affectionately while they both just listened to the nature and peace around them in silence as she sat down with blanket and lunch box prepared
Eventually when the sun began to set they packed up the picnic they had and left
"I'm surprised you know how to be silent" Jeremy replied bewildered cracking a smile "But Care, thanks I needed that"
Jeremy walked silently alongside Caroline back to her house
The two of them exchanged phone numbers and also a short intense kiss between the two
He parted ways with Caroline walking back while the sun had yet to fully set
"Hey you" a hooded figure standing in the shadows called him
Before Jeremy had a chance to say anything he was charged by the mysterious figure who moved at extreme speeds
"Fuck!Vampire" he muttered before preparing to defend himself
