章節 145: Ara~ Ara~

The thing with Hinata was delicate, to say the least.

Due to my appearance when she was little, along with the influence Anko gave her over the years, I ended up becoming, as anyone could deduce if they're not blind, her romantic interest instead of Naruto.

And I know how determined she can be in this regard, so I thought of ways to handle it properly.

Now she's sixteen, and I must point out that her personality has changed quite a bit from her original version. During the time she's been secretly coming in and out of the village, she has managed to connect quite well with Ameyuri and Pakura with Anko's help.

I don't even know how she did it, but the purpose seems pretty clear.

She also seems to have gained a lot of influence and followers from the Hyuga clan, not as the heir of the clan but personally. In fact, during some outings we had to disconnect from everything, she already told me about her idea of transferring the heir position to Hanabi.

She basically has everything ready so that when something like Pain's attack on Konoha happens, her people in the Hyuga clan can execute their transfer plan. She would leave in the village the conservative elders and extremist adults so that they "disappeared" due to the indiscriminate attack, while a small part of the branch under her orders would silently slip away to move to Seimeigakure.

Unfortunately, many of those who support Hinata for the change decided that they would be more useful by staying behind as bait to gain enough time for no one to suspect anything, even if it means that parents won't see their children grow up free from the seal.

A mentality that many with the Caged Bird Seal have, sacrifice for the greater good.

Only this time, instead of being forced to sacrifice by orders, they want to protect the future of their sons and daughters with their own hands.

Hinata will really only be able to take her sister, the unmarked children, some proven adults, documents about the clan's properties in Konoha, the technique scrolls...

It's quite extreme, but it could be considered that Hinata is doing what Fugaku could have done at the time, only borrowing external power to facilitate the transition even more.

—Lord Enel! —Haku calls me from afar as he approaches with a Den Den Mushi— You have an emergency call from the Kazekage Temari! She... oh, hello Hinata, did you just arrive? —he greeted seeing her with me.

Yes, Haku and Hinata get along quite well, and I think it's pretty normal considering their types. Although Karin is a bit jealous when she sees them, the insecurities of the younger ones...

—Yes, hello, Haku. How is Karin? —Hinata asks with a mischievous smile.

I have to intervene before they start talking for two hours and leave me out of the conversation! It wouldn't be the first time I ended up in the pose of Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker" because of it...

—What were you saying about the Kagekage?

—Oh! —Haku slapped his forehead with the palm of his hand as he stuck out his tongue— I almost went off on a tangent. She's waiting online right now —he says as he hands me the Den Den Mushi.

A year after the conquest of the Land of Water, I gave both Kages a special Den Den Mushi for emergency moments. They're like the ones used to summon a Buster Call, but instead of gold, they're more like ivory and silver.

The gold ones I have stored elsewhere.

—Hello? —I took the microphone to assume the call.

—Enel, Akatsuki, the organization we used in the Kirigakure conflict, has taken Gaara! —I hear Temari's voice through the snail— Miss Ameyuri told me that you would be near the Land of Wind for a while. Could you lend me your help to rescue my brother?

Well, that's one way to start the Shippuden saga. Not only did Temari not go to Konoha or find out late, but as the person in charge, she decided to call her allies first for assistance.

—How did everything happen? —even if I have an idea, it's better to ask to be sure. My interference may have affected more than expected.

—Two members of the organization came with the excuse of confirming a mission we asked them for (which we didn't), so the guards let them in without telling me. By the time they were inside, they started attacking until they located Gaara —Temari explained patiently— Gaara and I faced them when we understood their intentions and managed to defeat a renegade from our village, Sasori of the Red Sand, but his blond partner escaped alone with a lost arm and my brother unconscious in some kind of clay in the shape of a bird.

Okay, that's DEFINITELY way off from what I expected.

—When you say you took care of Sasori... —I tried to get more details, and Temari seemed to catch what I meant even if I didn't finish the question.

—It turns out he transformed his body into that of a puppet, and when I unexpectedly tore apart a kind of cylinder he had in his chest with my ability, he suddenly died without more —Temari confirmed— I think it was his battery or something, it was crazy when Chiyo-sama told me!

—Yes, it's definitely very crazy —I nodded.

So Sasori is dead, but really dead, and now Deidara is the one who is retiring. It's good to know.

How must Chiyo feel right now?

—Did you ask for more reinforcements?

—In fact, I wanted to ask for help from Konoha because their jinchuriki seemed to get along with Gaara, but it would take too long to send a message and wait for a response, which might or might not be a refusal given how they've been defending themselves this time —Temari said, somewhat frustrated— Every minute is crucial to rescue Gaara.

So no Kakashi, Sakura, Naruto, Tenten, Neji, Guy, or Lee on the way.

Oh, I forgot, Lee is now a taijutsu master at the Konoha Ninja Academy, and a grim one from what Hinata told me. He has been particularly resentful towards the people of Sunagakure.

—The sand is evil, be careful with the sand!

That's what he's constantly shouting from his trauma, where youth was extinguished with a cold water pot; it's his catchphrase, like Alastor Moody's constant vigilance.

—Alright, I'll bring some people to help.

—Thank you —Temari thanked, sighing— By the way, bring Anko if possible. My brother Kankuro and many others were poisoned by Sasori's senbons and poisonous smoke and are in a very bad condition. We could use an expert in poisons.

—Alright, we'll arrive at your village soon —I said goodbye to the Kazekage and hung up the call. Haku left to return the Den Den Mushi to its place, and I turned to talk to Hinata.

—Ara~ Ara~ It seems you've got yourself some work; I guess I'll have to return to the village for now.

I still have no idea where she learned to say that, I swear!
