"The fact that you are here means that your investigation is done?" Nathaniel asked his assistant as he crossed his arms on his chest.

Nathaniel had greatly lessened Clark's workload so that he could finish the investigation quickly.

"Investigation?" Jay asked. "This is the first time I'm hearing about this."

"Good," Clark huffed. "That means I did my job well, especially with the amount of people running around trying to gain your favor."

"I had Clark look into everyone Maya, I, and our families interact with," Jay visibly tensed as Nathaniel mentioned what the investigation was about. "We have a rat and I'm determined to find out who."

"Got something to hide, Jay?" Clark teased as the other man glared at him.

"Clark," Nathaniel warned. 

He knew that the two men liked to banter, but in his opinion, Clark was pushing his friend too far today.
