"Shit," Maya cursed when she realized the time.

"Why, what?" Adeline asked her.

Nathaniel's mother was sitting gracefully in one of Maya's chairs, sipping her tea as they went through the files Nico sent them.

It seemed her brother really wanted that letter, he had sent it as soon as they ended the call.

"Date night," Maya told Adeline as she walked to the hidden closet in her office and pulled out a green dress she had brought with her that morning.

"Date night?" Adeline asked her as she watched Maya disappear into the lounge to change.

"Madam," Katlin said as she entered the room.

Maya popped her head out through the door and raised an eyebrow at Katlin.

To Maya's surprise, Adeline didn't react when Katlin called for the Madam, it was a title reserved for the wife of the head of the De La Rue family.

"I'm the old Madam, remember," Adeline said as she sipped her tea with a smile on her lips.
