Maya shook as she saw the anger in Nathaniel's eyes.
"Take him away, lock him up!" Nathaniel ordered, his voice full of anger. "I'll deal with him later."
She watched as Nathaniel's men picked Oliver up, not bothering to cover him, and pulled him out of the room.
"Nate, I'm okay," Maya told him as she leaned against his chest.
She needed him as much as he needed her. She could see him shaking in anger.
"I'm sorry Nate, I'm sorry I fell for their trap," she said as he continued to hold her.
He was silent, so silent that Maya began to worry.
"No, it's my fault, they shouldn't have fought with you," he said as he held her tight. "I should have kept you with me at all times."
"I'm sorry," Maya said.
They stood in the room in each other's arms while Maya gathered herself, she felt Nathaniel watching her, searching her for any injuries.
"I'm fine, I'm not hurt, he didn't get near," she said as she tried to comfort him.
