"It's fine, Maya, just drop it," Oliver groaned. 

It was clear from his tone that he was disappointed that Jay had lied to him. 

Jay never liked him and they had never been friends. He was aware that his friends had looked down on and occasionally bullied Jay so this was merely payback for all those years, he was willing to let all of this go on account of that. 

"Fine," Maya grumbled as she looked at Nate and glared at him. 

After her call with Oliver, she was going to have a word with him. 

"I'll visit your grandfather some other time at home," he told Maya. "How are you? Were you hurt?"

"Why would I be hurt?" Maya asked, shocked by his question.

Nothing had happened to her in recent days to indicate that she could have been harmed so Oliver's question came as a shock to her. 

"Oliver?" Maya asked when she noticed that Oliver had not said anything.
