"You should have stayed on that mountain and never trained yourself in martial arts."
Heiiik!
Namgung Jiwoo's sword swung towards my neck before my foot could touch the ground. I normally wouldn't be able to dodge such a speedy attack, but today is an exception.
Klang!
Just before the sword could reach my neck, a familiar looking axe collided with the sword, halting its movement in time to launch a counterattack.
I quickly unleashed the Golden Dragon Claw arts before Namgung Jiwoo could launch another attack. However, instead of maneuvering his sword to block my attacks, Namgung Jiwoo arrogantly dodged every strike thrown at him.
Even the greatest masters of the past who had reached the Absolute Realm couldn't do that, the only way he could have known where my strikes would land was if he had seen them... elsewhere...
I should have seen this coming, the Namgung had Baek Tae-Yeon, someone who knew the Golden Dragon arts just like I did. Those spies were probably just being used to buy time to train Namgung Jiwoo to counter the martial arts of the Mount Song Sect.
Before Namgung Jiwoo could launch another attack, I quickly called out into the open forest.
"Pyo Kang! Pyo Yong! Hurry the hell up!"
Seemingly out of nowhere, Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong landed in front of Namgung Jiwoo and blocked his sword in its path. The one who had thrown the axe earlier was Pyo Kang, as he had the power necessary to stop the attack just by throwing an axe.
Namgung Jiwoo was surprised to see Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong, almost as if he knew them. Without a second to lose however, I dashed toward Namgung Jiwoo with a new martial art at the ready.
Silver Breath Arts, Claw of the Earth, a martial art never seen in this current era. I unfolded a flurry of slashes with razor like qi claws protruding from my fingers while keeping my attacks away from Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong's swords.
Namgung Jiwoo showed his surprise quite clearly when I showed a martial art other than those of the Mount Song Sect. He wasted no time pushing Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong back and moving to deflect my attacks.
He was a second late however, as before he could block my first few strikes, one of my qi claws dug deep into his thigh and popped off my finger.
Blood began to gush from the wound as my qi claw began to dig deeper into Namgung Jiwoo's muscles, preventing his movement from being as fast as it was before.
However, my claw qi was quickly pushed out of his leg and the wounded area strangely began to heal, which was a clear sign he had absorbed the entire spiritual core of another spiritual beast.
The moment his thigh healed itself, a ferocious qi erupted Namgung Jiwoo. It seemed like he was finally going to take this seriously.
However,
Heiik!
Thud!
In the span of a second, blood filled the air as the sound of two heavy objects hitting the ground simultaneously echoed through the trees.
Neither Pyo Kang nor Pyo Yong had seen what happened, but I had. In an instant Namgung Jiwoo had severed both of their right arms from their body without leaving a chance to react.
And not even a second later, Namgung Jiwoo was standing before me, his sword covered in Sword Force attempting to cut down my right arm where I stood.
My perception of time began to slow to a near stop, this situation was the same as last time with Jinlong... I wasn't strong enough to protect him from the greedy clutches of the Namgung clan...
Each second began to feel as if hours were passing, hundreds of thoughts were running through my mind as I helplessly watched Namgung Jiwoo's sword slowly creep closer to removing my arm from my body.
But as the tip of his Sword Force touched the clothes covering my shoulder, everything stopped. My head became focused on the one remaining thought within my head.
Win at all costs.
I had no choice but to use this now. In the when I had first created this technique in the future, I swore to never use it again once I saw the side effects it had on the world. But now isn't the time to hold back such a technique.
Silver Breath Arts; Force of Dusk
A silver light enveloped my left fist as I aimed it directly at Namgung Jiwoo's chest. And as his Sword Force made contact with my shoulder, a silver beam of pure energy erupted from my hand and pierced through his chest and continued through the numerous trees behind him.
The combination of Qi Bullets* and Force Qi, the technique I used was the result of that experimentation. However, it drains my qi much more than any other technique I had. Thankfully, I didn't have much qi, so the destruction made by the attack was left to a minimum.
Namgung Jiwoo's sword stopped before it could sever my right arm from my body. However, it seemed my accuracy was not as good as I thought.
The hole in his chest which I thought had hit his heart, wriggled furiously as it tried to regenerate the missing lung that had been destroyed by the beam of qi.
Namgung Jiwoo collapsed and began to wheeze in pain, his left lung had been completely destroyed and his right lung was trying its best to compensate. Even the pain he felt was beyond what he thought was possible.
Between his wheezes Namgung Jiwoo stuttered, "... You... H-how... Did you... Do that...?"
I had no time to answer his questions, I couldn't allow Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong to lose too much blood. Pyo Yong had already gone through the pain that came with losing an arm once, and thankfully it was able to be reattached. But if I didn't act soon he might actually lose his dominant arm.
Thankfully we were prepared for the worst, so I could reattach their arms in due time, but first, a certain old man needs to pay for his crimes.
Author's note:
Qi Bullet: A projectile of solid qi shot through the hand, can only be used with extremely high density qi.
