The two of them walked around the garden silently.

Each time they stepped forward, the light would light up, turning the garden brighter. The sounds of gurgling water could be heard from ahead.

Feeling as if she was being observed, Ye Qing Xin would glance at her grandfather. However, each time that she looked over, she would find her grandfather looking somewhere else.

She turned and saw that her grandfather was looking at her. Their gazes locked, causing her heart to skip a beat. Her grandfather's stare was too deep that she felt as if he could look deep into her soul.

"Xin Xin."

Ye Qing Xin snapped out of her trance. She forced herself to compose herself quickly and spoke, "Yes? Grandpa, what's wrong? Why are you stopping suddenly?"

Her grandfather did not answer immediately, but instead, continued to stare at her, making her feel uncomfortable. Her hands grasped the side of her blouse tightly as she continued to put on a smile on her face.

The wind was blowing softly at night, but Ye Qing Xin's body was sweating. She would never expect that her grandfather's stare would make her feel this tense.

"Xin Xin, are you feeling alright?" Ye Ting finally spoke after staying silent for a long time.

Her grandfather's question startled her. Ye Qing Xin forced herself to calm down. Just as she was about to say something when her grandfather spoke again.

"I have noticed that ever since that accident, you have been behaving quite differently."

Ye Qing Xin began to panic. She wanted to come up with some excuses, but the words were stuck in her throat. At this time, she wished her little sister was around so that she could help her to explain.

But of course, Ye Ting would notice the change in his granddaughter.

Ye Qing Xin was the granddaughter that he doted on the most. How can Ye Ting not notice the slight change in her attitude when they were together?

"Don't think that I didn't notice it," Ye Ting continued. "How close are we previously, do you think that I wouldn't know?"

Her heartbeat was accelerating.

Ye Qing Xin wondered if her grandfather would know that she was now different. Would he know that she was not the previous Ye Qing Xin?

Her lips opened and closed a few times. But Ye Qing Xin could not come up with an explanation.

Ye Ting gripped his walking stick tightly when he saw that his granddaughter was not answering him. He narrowed his eyes and spoke, "Xin Xin are you angry at Grandpa?"

Ye Qing Xin was stunned. She had thought that her grandfather would figure out the secret that she was not the previous Ye Qing Xin.

Unexpectedly, her grandfather was thinking that she was angry at him because he did not come to visit her when she was hospitalized.

It made her speechless.

The previous Ye Qing Xin was very close to her grandfather. Therefore, it was not easy for her to lie.

Ye Qing Xin pondered if she should say that the granddaughter he knew was gone and now replaced with someone else's soul.

But this news would break her grandfather's heart, wouldn't it?

No matter what, she was not willing to hurt this old man's heart. The thought of seeing him heartbroken made her heart ache.

After long consideration, Ye Qing Xin finally looked up again. Her grandfather was still watching her, waiting for her to give him a reason.

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing Xin spoke, "Grandpa, then... You have to promise that you will stay calm. No matter what I say, you have to remain calm."

"Xin Xin..." Ye Ting's heart was not at ease. But seeing the face in front of him, he decided to listen. "Alright then. Grandpa would stay calm."
