Small murmurs flew across the hall as everyone wondered what would have prompted the Lord to choose a poor village girl to become a part of the castle. Most of them hadn't seen the girl but they had only heard of her piquing their interest. Lady Katherine, lady Morgan and other members of the castle walked into the ball room as the eunuch announced their presence at the door side. Many people bowed to them as they made their way inside the hall. They blended with the others to await the Lord and the girl.

Lady Katherine had dressed over the top to overshadow everyone in the hall, it was almost like a competition of wealth and power as everyone had worn one of their best dresses, flaunting their golds.

"This new member of the castle, what is her role in the royal home?" One of lady Katherine friends asked her when they surrounded her to praise her dress and looks with their pretentious and fake smiles.

"I don't know and I don't care" Katherine replied.
