Secret passages, a maze within the massive walls of the palace, hurrying through the dark with a tall and handsome King... It was like something out of a fantasy book—or a dream, which didn't help at all.

When David first drew me into that dark corridor behind the bookshelves I was distracted for a minute from my angst about the whole situation just from sheer shock. But as we moved further and further from the library, and deeper into the shadows, most of the light from that tiny candle he carried was blocked from me by his huge body in towering over me, but with his hand sure on mine and pulling me forward quickly my fear twisted tighter, even while my inner romantic quivered with joy.
