Dieter didn't speak immediately, instead taking his time to study Cael's expression.

He didn't really expect anything to come out of his offer earlier. Ever since he was caught unawares by the upcoming maelstrom, Dieter was tethering on the edge. The edge of death and the edge of snapping.

Despite knowing that he shouldn't antagonize and snark at these people, not now, he couldn't stop. And now, with the maelstrom raging only a few meters of thick ice away, Dieter felt even more inclined to release his stress somehow.

'Shirt, I'd kill for a long bath and a bottle of wine… Any ducking wine,' he thought wearily, running a hand through his hair.

This moment of weakness was all Dieter let himself feel. The next second he pulled himself together again, wearing a haughty smirk as an armor and a sword.
