I knew that Haley had missed school on that Monday, and that was fine for me. She had even missed it on Tuesday. That was cool too. She had gone home to see her family. I figured that she was just checking on her mom.

It made sense to me anyway. I mean, Haley's mom had been sick last year. She had cancer and had needed extra help with things around the house while her dad was working long hours. It had been why I had not met her last year.

Haley had started university the year before me, and I had started a year late. Then when she took off a year, it put us in the same year now. I was glad that we were together now, but there was an unpleasant reason behind it.

I missed her though. That was the bad thing. I didn't want to be away from her. I wanted to have her at my side. And when I went to our internship, I had gotten so used to seeing her during that time that now it felt miserable for me to be there without her.
