There was no better way to wake up. I had my arms still wrapped around Rika's slender body, holding her against my chest as I played the big spoon to her little one. She fit so perfectly along my body that it was no doubt that fate had meant for us to be together. And she felt like this place had been hers all along, I just hadn't been able to put her there until now.

Her hair, mussed from the night before, was tickling my nose, as was her delicious scent. I loved that I got to have that first thing in the morning. And just thinking about it was making me smile. I knew that we still have years and years ahead of us, but this was the happily ever after that I had always wanted. This right here, being with my mate and loving her, this was all that I needed. And now that I had it, I would spend the rest of my life protecting it.
