Ywain's words played in my head over and again all the way home. The entry of a love rival in the chapters of my story took away my will to resign to my fate. 

Fate had other plans for Zephirin and they didn't include me. My eyes were glued to the demon prince that graced Liradia with his presence. I wondered if I would've been inclined to save him had I known his destiny. 

We sat at the little cottage my friends and I called home and had tea. The situation called for a drink that clears my head, so I opted for tea instead of wine. 

"How do you know the evil one is in Liradia? " I dared to ask. 

Prince Eilif seemed on his tea. He dried the corners of his lips with his sleeve and spoke. "It's strange to admit but the snake told me. It's keeps drawing me here, " he answered honestly.
