That night I had one last request I wanted to make, someone simply just needed wood, I grabbed my iron axe and ran into the forest.
It was something quick and I was nearby the village, so I shouldn't have to worry about any monster attacks as extreme as the last one I faced, I began quickly chopping wood.
Hmm, as I finishes collecting all the wood from the tree, I felt a strange sense of paranoia, like I was being watched by someone or something.
I turn around and scan the area, and that was when something caught my eye, as I looked upon the nearby hill saw a tall dark figure with long purple hair on top of the hill, it looked like.... a girl?
I continued looking in confusion but I guess she noticed me looking at her, she began to turn purple and instantly vanish, and I instantly knew what that meant.
There was only 1 monster in the overworld I knew that could teleport "Oh crap! Don't tell me that was an enderman!!!" or at least an ender-girl if you wanna be specific, those monsters always scared me whenever I played Minecraft on my computer, I hated enderman!!!!
'Now I gotta deal with one in real life!?!?' I panicked knowing fighting head-on was going to be a pain due to the fact that they can teleport and have high health, so I had to think back to their weaknesses to put the odds in my favor here, lets's see...
Water? no, don't have any on me, Pumpkins? No, it won't work If they are already provoked, and I also knew building a roof above my head won't work because game mechanics like that won't work here.
Then it came to my mind, I learned on the internet that if you provoke an enderman, you can actually CONTINUE to stare right at it, and it will refrain from attacking you.
So I waited until she teleported close and locked my eyes to the ender-girl, not moving a muscle to maintain focus, well mainly because I was terrified, but still.
To my amazement the trick actually worked, she stopped in her tracks just a few inches away from my face, and it terrified me even more.
I could feel her breathing on my cheek, but then she moved closer to my ear and softly whispered: "You are not from this world, are you?"
"WAIT WHAT THE!?!?! YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH ME!?!?!" I thought aloud
⛏⛏⛏
I was in complete shock, these monsters looked different sure, but now one is talking to me? I mean sure she looked like any ordinary human to me.
So sure I guess it's kinda hard to even classify her as an actual enderman despite having the ability to teleport, and sure I'm looking at her right now without catching those hands.
(which everyone knows looking at enderman for too long causes them to attack and chase you.) And sure I feel like I'm saying 'and sure' way too much here, but if this mysterious world keeps throwing unpredictable crap like human enderman at me, could you blame me for spiraling my thoughts?
However, I needed to hurry up and say something else here, cause the ender-girl is starting to stare at me with confusion instead of caution cause I haven't said anything in a while.
Welp might as well keep talking, (Even though I suck at socialization) it's how I got this far, to begin with.
I needed to not give too much personal info here, cause you never know if you could trust monsters you just met.(Or whatever you'd call a human with monster attributes) So I started off by sounding rather confused about the situation.
I started my conversation rather aloof towards her by saying
"Hmm what do you mean, 'not from this world', I'm just a normal survivor who's trying to collect some wood for the night," I said trying to play it off. "Why would I just attack a stranger I hardly know about?"
"It's pretty easy to tell that I'm still a monster though" She responded
"You are? Umm I mean, of COURSE you are!" I'm doomed!
"Even though we could have human appearances, people will still attack us knowing how dangerous monsters are..."
"You don't seem all that dangerous to me" I shrugged
I needed a second to take in what she just said, it was pretty deep to still be treated as a monster despite your appearance. I decided to continue our conversation.
"Wait, why didn't YOU attack me if you were still a 'monster'?" I responded
"You see, everyone I come across does either 1 of two things, attack me on sight trying to get the upper hand, or they just ignore me, not even wanting to make eye contact. You, however, noticed my appearance, and instead of going on the offensive, you just continued staring in my direction... aren't you afraid of me?" The ender-girl questioned as she continued to circle and study me with her dark purple eyes.
I then proceeded to tell her a complete lie "Of course not!" I replied "I was just uh um" Come on, come on, come up with a reason already Takeo!!!!!
"I-I just think it is important to see b-beyond the surface ya know! I think everyone deserves to show or prove who they really are, whether how you looked, or your background," I said proudly. (jeez that was so basic, I sound like every diverse protagonist ya know?)
Maybe this endergirl killing me right now might not be the worst thing!
She started to study me in Awe, "After all this time, have I finally found one of them???" she whispered
Apparently, that awful speech worked! I can see her easing up, and flashing a slight grin (Oh no! Can't I just move on here...)
"I knew it!!! You're the one they kept talking about! What were the odds I'd finally get to meet you!" She told me as she teleported behind me and began to feel me around from behind out of sheer curiosity, I could feel her arms wrapping me from behind, and I was stiff in a surprised shock (H-hey woah there!!!)
Talk about a drastic change in attitude, she had completely changed compared to when I first saw her, going from a defensive and menacing figure to a curious and upbeat mood.
This all somehow made me tense up more, not because I was being touched all over the place without consent, but because things felt a little sudden in my favor here.
I could really use some more explanations here!
After feeling my figure she came to a conclusion
"Oh so you must be one of the 'Otherworlder' boys that I heard from legend!!!" she said as she felt my chest, I don't know how to feel about that...
"Umm, what? Otherworlder?" I questioned a tad bit worried, were there unknown entities that were watching me? And who are these 'Otherworlders' that people kept talking about? I know there are other people sent to this world besides me!
"Yep! I've read it so many times I remember the writing by heart, 'They arrived in this world on a beacon of light, that they would help others and successfully make them thrive, even if they were one of the cursed ones, the otherworlders would never run from a fight!"
"Umm wow!" I feel like I'm being a bit overestimated here!
"You see, Legends like these were one of the only things that made me keep Persevering in times like this!"
"I have been isolated from humans for many years now, after what I just learned from the others, that there were sightings of otherworlders nearby, I just had to come to see for myself I couldn't be happier that they were right!" She explained
"Right right, say you know a lot about me and all, but I don't think we've met, who are you?" I questioned, I might as well get to know this enderman a bit more, it could really be helpful for my survival
"Ah of course, sorry for jumping to conclusions like that." she said with a smile "My name is Teles Fox!"
Teles huh? Interesting, they even have names, maybe I shouldn't have killed the monsters that night, but they were mindless and tried to kill me first, so it was kinda on them I had to fight back!
"Well nice to meet you Teles, I'm Takeo!" I said while offering a hand... 'Ouch!!! Tight grip you've got there!!!' I thought while trying to shake my hand out of her grip.
"Say, while I'm asking, who told you all this information about me?" I asked, better get info in case something bad happens.
"Why the other enderman of course! They watched the way you acted as you survived here from a distance," Teles explained to me
"Other enderman huh? Can I meet them?" I asked I wonder if all enderman here are like Teles.
She hesitated "Umm I wouldn't if I were you..." Teles warned, "They haven't collected as much XP as I have so far, so they are still mutated, you wouldn't understand them, and they will definitely attack if you look at them."
Oh, so I guess the only reason why Teles was able to communicate with the other enderman, is because despite her human appearance. She's still technically an enderman herself, finally something I was able to understand by myself.
I still had so many questions, but I'd better stop there before this turns into an interrogation, so I decided to think up another time to meet Teles again while I chopped more wood.
"Here, let me help you collect the wood you need," Teles told me, then she easily picked up a wood block from the tree, and handed it to me.
"Oh, thanks!" I said taking the wood and putting it into my inventory (I don't know how I'm able to do that not gonna lie)
Thanks to Teles' help I could get more than enough wood and go to the village for the night.
"Thanks for the help, we should really meet up and talk again soon!" I told her, I might not completely trust her yet, but I was still grateful for her help, and I wanted to learn more about this whole monster situation, and why they needed XP.
Teles lit up "Sure I would love that!" But our planning was cut short when I heard a hissing sound nearby, a monster??? I'm surprised I'm just now finally running into one.
"Nice, but umm, let's meet during the day next time?"
"Agreed, I'm about as exposed out here as you are..."
Wait? Do monsters also try to kill her? It's getting dangerous out here, I should probably ask about it later! we said our goodbyes as she teleported away.
As I proceeded to run back to the village, many thoughts flooded my mind, a ton to take in all at once, but I am curious about some of the secrets this world has to offer.
So the next day, I was actually looking forward to seeing an enderman for once.
⛏⛏⛏
In the afternoon, I was getting ready to go back to the spot I met Teles. I'm bringing a water bucket with me this time just in case this whole thing was just a setup!
Hey, don't look at me like that, It's not like she'll know what's in my inventory I'm just playing it safe here!
When I returned to the same hill I met her at, I noticed Teles was actually waiting there for me, her long purple hair flowing in the wind as she spotted me from below.
"You came back?" Teles beamed in my direction (Okay, now I'm starting to feel bad about the whole water thing...)
"Aye, I wasn't busy for once today at the city!"
"How is living in the city? Do you like it other there?"
"It's alright, I've been promoted to Minemore's community builder ever since I finished building that battlement."
"Interesting, and how about the people who are living there?"
"Oh you know, the residence has a hard time getting to trust newcomers, but besides that, they're pretty cool, or at least MOST of them are..." There were still a few residents that don't trust me yet, people will always be stubborn
I learned a lot about Teles that day too, she was very curious, upbeat, and loved to travel,(No surprises there) to me traveling seems pretty easy when you can teleport.
There is a lot more to the overworld than there is to the end dimension (The end dimension is where enderman are said to come from)
We strolled for so long that it was almost nightfall, but with the conversations we had, we decided to meet again, and again, until I basically lost count!
If I had to guestimate, this is probably like day 12 or 13 of us hanging out together.
