寫檢討Title: 百年修仙,我快死了金手指才来 Author: 极西行者 Status: 308 Chapters and Ongoing I read the first 25 chapters months back on Qidian and liked it but put it aside since I was mainly looking for Sci-fi. My note was that it was decent, similar to Farue's review, so I might get back it someday when in the mood to read more fantasy novels. Rated 4 stars since I've only vague memories that it was interesting.
You know, it's really disappointing when a promising story takes a nosedive into a cesspool of bigotry and an unhealthy obsession with blood relations. The initial chapters showed potential, but then it's like the author couldn't resist drowning the narrative in sexism and this bizarre blood fixation. Suddenly, 'blood' relatives are put on this pedestal, while the genuinely interesting 'non-blood' relationships are left in the dust. The main character's sudden favoritism towards 'blood' kin is both frustrating and off-putting. It's like the author forgot how to create meaningful connections beyond some arbitrary genetic link. What's worse is how this skewed perspective bleeds into the MC's actions. If you're not part of the 'blood' club, you're automatically relegated to the role of an outsider. Loyalty and support from non-blood companions are met with mistrust and scheming, which is incredibly jarring and makes it difficult to invest in the characters. The first 120 or so chapters were tolerable, but then the author went full-throttle on this 'blood' fixation, and it felt like a slap in the face for readers who were hoping for a more nuanced and inclusive narrative. It's a shame when an otherwise potentially enjoyable novel gets overshadowed by such regressive themes.
I will write spoilers."This novel overly imposes equality of strength between Jiang Chengxuan and his wife, Shen Ruyan. In the early chapters, during their cultivation in the Foundation Establishment Realm and Violet Palace Realm, it's understandable if Shen Ruyan is stronger than her husband due to her advantages from her previous life. However, after reaching the Golden Core Realm where Jiang Chengxuan condensed a level 11 golden core while Shen Ruyan only condensed a level 9 golden core, the author insists that they are equally strong, especially in the chapter where both reach the sixth stage of the Golden Core Realm. The author claims that Jiang Chengxuan can defeat a cultivator of the False Newly Born Soul Realm, and so can Shen Ruyan!Where is the logic in this?Jiang Chengxuan possesses many powerful Dharma treasures, while Shen Ruyan has only one. Additionally, Jiang Chengxuan has developed numerous and stronger divine abilities compared to Shen Ruyan. So, where does their equal strength come from?Truly, the author seems to lack understanding."
揭示劇透good, unlike the usual cultivation books you'd come across on webnovel that has no basic logics...................................................
A suprisingşy realistic cn. Most hermit mcs run away from everything but this mc takes measured risks even though he is a hermit type mc. Mc also understands its foolish to offend people for bo reason. Over a good cn with common sense which is quite rare. Also the system isnt too op so far and mostly relies on öcs hard work.
I’m surprised that this is actually very good. At first when I read the synopsis I almost dropped it instantly because of the “and accidentally obtained the immortal cultivation heritage” part, I thought it was a super OP heritage but it was actually just a Qi Cultivator’s heritage, which is good. Now let’s talk about the Cheat, unlike the Check-in System that literally rewards the MC with super OP things for doing nothing the Achievement System of this novel rewards the efforts of the MC, the System sends him a mission and he has to complete it first before receiving the next one. The rewards that the System gives him are related to the achievement that he completed: -The Mc turned 100 years cultivating? =A fruit that increases longevity by 60 years -The MC attempted to break a bottleneck 100 times = A chance to immediately break a bottleneck, either a minor one from 8 to 9 or a major one from Qi to Foundation Establishment. -The Mc cast a spell 100 times = A jade that allows him to perfectly master a spell of the Mc’s choice. Mc Jiang Chengxuan was in this world for more than 100 years before getting the system so he has a cautious personality, he is already an experienced man, now that he has a system he’s still cautious as most of the quests he’s received don’t require him to put himself in danger (for now). So far the MC has made very logical decisions, no young master has appeared and the supporting characters seem very intelligent, they don’t unnecessarily seek trouble with others as if they were parodies of human beings. Although there are only 19 chapters so far so they may appear later. The translation is also very good, they don’t change the gender of the characters in each paragraph. In conclusion, this has a lot of potential.
揭示劇透I initially thought this was gonna be a novel where MC is a hermit that quickly becomes overpowered then blows the minds of mortals as he casually serves it to them and oneshots all his enemies. On the contrary, this seems like an actual cultivation novel. He actually sequesters himself to cultivate or practice his skills/spells to mastery stages ect. This isn't a novel where the system is overbearing or seems to be constantly present either. It sometimes pops in to give a mission then leaves for a couple years or something. Characters are also one of this novels strong points, with them behaving as real actual humans would instead of being cardboard cutouts of that same arrogant young master, they have common sense. Not what I was expecting honestly, but seems to be very well done and has that rare quality where some actual thought was put in.in short this is a cultivation novel that has common sense, that is often more then what we can ask for these days.
This is my dictionary definition of a boring novel. There's nothing particularly wrong with it. Except that there's nothing new, nothing interesting, nothing, different about it. It's a cut-and-paste dry and slow cliche cultivation novel.
This is one of the few cultivation novels with characters that actually have common sense. There is mutual respect between individuals and the interactions don't seem plastic, which is a breath of fresh air.Would recommend this to anyone interested in cultivation stories. Sincerely hoping that this novel doesn't exhibit a drop in quality after the author uploads more chapters.
My main issue here was how inconsistent the system is. In most novels, there's always another mission to complete, when you have this type of system. In this novel, once he completes a mission, the system gives him his reward and then just stops communicating until it randomly issues another mission at some point in the distant future. It just rankles me.
There are constant time skips. The system only exists when the author remembers this is a system novel. The author conjoined two premises, he is trying to write an actual, serious cultication story but decided to give the protagonist cheats. It clashes. Why do the cheats even exist? Now for my personal input, I don't like it after he joins the sect/family. It's pointless. Could have been a cool rogue, solo cultivator story. Now it's turning into a cookie cutter cultivation story. I would have given it a 2 but I will give it a 3 because I can see how others might like it.
From the trial read I am loving it so far. MC is focused on himself over romance which is a plus this early on for me. Looking forward to more to come. great job 👏
