Cindy's laughter bubbled over as Alexander set her down gently, the care and affection in his touch warming her heart. She flashed him a playful smile, her eyes dancing with mischief as she pretended to ponder his question.
"Hmm, decisions, decisions," she said, feigning deep thought as she surveyed the array of ingredients laid out before them. "I think I'm in the mood for something sweet and savory. How about pancakes with bacon and maple syrup?"
Alexander grinned, his eyes sparkling with amusement at her choice. "Excellent choice, my lady," he declared with a flourish, before setting to work gathering the necessary ingredients.
Alexander did not want Cindy to work in the kitchen partly because she did not know how to cook and partly because she was injured and it would pain his heart to let her do any work.
