She spoke in English, “Members of the Court. I am here today to warn you about a threat to our livelihood.” A murmur rippled through the crowd. Colette felt her stomach twist into knots.

“There is a newly awakened Elite on the scene,” Eveline continued to speak, voice rising as the murmurs grew louder. “And she has already tried to seduce my very own daughter.”
