"This is not way back to home"

Leo catches up with the situation. This kid is a smart one. "Your wound has to receive check-up. That's why I am heading to the hospital" Focusing on the road, I answer. From the corner of my eyes, I capture the view of his brows pulling each other in puzzlement.

"It is a mere wound, Verena. Why are you being extra?" His reply causes my jaw to clench. Look at the way he is talking. He is making it sound as if I am being overdramatic on nothing. In fact, I am not worried, maybe a bit since it is bleeding. Still, I am going to the hospital.

Not because I am concerned, but because this is how I am going to humiliate his dear mother only. Truth like this should not be heard by a kid like him though. So, the only option is to calm down. Let's make up an excuse that would drag him into deep silence.
