Warm whispers and knocks on the door woke Ana, and once again, she found herself alone in the room. Her eyes hardened when the cold wind touched her skin as she tried to sit up in her bed.

What was she even expecting? That he would wait for her to wake up? She shook her head and closed her eyes, but she heard movements. The sound of steps and a small gasp, followed by footsteps running to her side. But she was not alone. Someone followed, moving much steadier and slower than the other one. She didn't need to open her eyes to know who it was.

However, when her eyes did open, she found herself staring at her husband, feeling oddly comforted and secure in the presence of the very man who had killed her in his past life or had been sent here, into the den of wolves in this life.

"You are awake," he said, the simple words unnerving when matched with the look in her eyes, one that showed relief.
