章節 42: Victory
"I guess we have a winner among us," said the announcer to which not a single person clapped as they were simply too devastated to even clap. They had just seen a boy no older than 10 get killed without the least bit of mercy. Even if the colosseum was supposed to bring out the merciless nature of others, this was far too much. As such, not a single person could even move for a while.
"So do I get a prize or something?" Arthur asked which caused the announcer to spring into action.
"Yes, in fact you do. I apologize for the delay, you just shocked us with your performance," said the announcer which caused Arthur to look confused.
"I asked you if it was okay to cut off their limbs and you never stated that murder was against the rules as well so I don't think there's anything wrong with what I did," said Arthur which left the announcer stunned as he realized that Arthur had no sense of morality. All he cared about was himself and nothing more than that.
"All right then, I'll bring out your prize so you can move along with your day," said the announcer before leaping out of the colosseum with a single jump the returning a few minutes later.
"Allow me to present you with this gift. It's a Rank 20 Blade taken from the second hardest dungeon known to man. We usually only have the blades from the 3rd or 4th hardest dungeon however it seems like it was your lucky year, you managed to get your hands on this," said the announcer as he tried to get on Arthur's good side so he wouldn't kill him.
"Oh? I see," said Arthur as he took the blade before swinging it a couple times around before feeling a sudden change. It was as if he could feel something tugging in his soul as if it wanted to syphon Arthur's energy away from his body. However it was as if something was resisting it. That being Lucifer since he wouldn't dare anyone touch his reserve of stamina, no matter who they were. However after quite the struggle, Lucifer had enough of holding back. It turned out to be that the soul of the monster was inside the blade and as such it decided to invade Arthur's body so that it can draw our stamina so that it could make full use of its potential. However when it appeared in front of Lucifer, it regretted the day it was brought into existence.
Lucifer was a giant compared to the soul of the weapon which took the form of a high elf. That being an elf that was on a higher class than others from its species. It out ranked them in every way and as such had transcended them.
"How dare you try to invade my territory?!" Lucifer said as if he was going to eat the high elf in one bite.
"Don't you dare touch him!" Arthur yelled at Lucifer.
"Who do you think you are to even demand that?!" Lucifer replied angry that Arthur would even think to challenge him.
"Lucifer, I know you're quite strong, however there's something you should know before this confrontation moves any further. No matter how much you torture me, you'll never kill me since I'm the perfect vessel. Knowing that, you would be conflicted to kill me. During that time, I can take out Excalibur then you'll have quite the fun time I presume. So unless you want that to take place, try to listen to my requests every once in a while," said Arthur which caused Lucifer to start laughing.
"Does it look like I care about that stupid weapon? Right now, you don't have access to it, I can just kill you. You're far too arrogant. Even if you're dead, I can go back to the underworld and just wait my time out there and wait for a new vessel to appear. Don't you dare stand against me, I'll kill you in the blink of an eye," Lucifer replied.
"So do it then. What's stopping you? Do it right now!" Arthur yelled at Lucifer which began to choke Arthur by taking away his body's ability to breathe. Even so, Arthur could have used his body to unconsciously take out Excalibur however he chose not to do so for a very specific reason and that proved to be right as Lucifer shortly stopped.
"Next time, I won't be so nice as to stop. You better appreciate this act of kindness you brat," said Lucifer which caused Arthur to laugh.
"You can't fool me. You're just some stupid demon that got his ego bloated because he was crowned as the demon king. You see Lucifer, I've figured you out. It's over, you can't threaten me anymore. I know that you won't kill me because you can't come back to this world if you do. Let me explain," said Arthur.
"If you were to kill me, you would most likely flee to the underworld so that you wouldn't have to deal with the previous council of sorcery. After that you would simply be stuck there. You see, the tools that people need to summon other demons is much less than that required to summon the demon king himself. As such, while all of your subjects get to come to this world, you'll always be stuck in the underworld. This is the first time in all of history that you managed to get out of that hell and it's all because some group of insane people with power decided to do that. Don't you think expecting an accident such as that is too much to ask for from luck?" Arthur asked as he began to laugh at Lucifer.
"You already know it, this is you only shot at taking over this world so you better learn to swallow your pride and work along side me. I'm not unreasonable so I won't ask you to treat me like I'm a king. I just wasn't the bare minimum such as not killing the souls of weapons I want to have some fun with," said Lucifer.
"But why this one? You realize that Excalibur is possibly hundreds if not thousands of times stronger than this worthless piece of trash?" Lucifer asked which left Arthur speechless.
"Wait what?!"
