章節 9: Perspective

"Hey Arthur, I've been meaning to ask. Why is it that you feel no sympathy or remorse when you kill? I mean from what I know so far about you, this is the first time you've killed a single person yet you seem like a total natural at this. Is there a reason for this?" the inspector asked to which Arthur looked confused but was willing to entertain the inspector.

"I see, I thought you might be wondering about that so I've already prepared an answer. You see, I don't actually view people as anything more than animals. I mean they haven't viewed me as one of their own yet so that must mean that I'm from another species. In my books, that means that I'm at a higher level of existence than humans. You see, to me, humans are no different from cows or pigs. In my eyes, all humans and animals are the same," Arthur explained to which the inspector wanted to laugh due to what he had heard.

"I understand. Well, I guess I just expected you to have a better reason than that, such as being traumatized at a young age through abuse or other factors which may have caused your sense of morals to crumble due to your situation however you're simpler than I thought. I guess we don't have to worry about teaching you how to kill and how it's not bad to kill those who are rotten evil," said the inspector.

"Wait inspector, I've been meaning to ask you something for a very long time," said Arthur to which the inspector looked to have his interest peaked.

"What is your name?" Arthur asked to which the inspector seemed to have been rather puzzled by the question he was asked.

"Why do you want to know?" the inspector replied as he had not told anyone his name for quite some time and didn't understand why Arthur who had just met him needed to know his name.

"Well, I think it would be awkward for you to be training me while I don't even know your name.. Secondly, where would you even train me? I mean now that I've destroyed an entire city, I must be a target of the whole government as well as the council of sorcery," said Arthur as he was worried that he would get hunted down and as such he would not be able to train in peace.

"Oh, about the training thing…" said the inspector before snapping his fingers to which the two of them where teleported to the sky quite literally. The two stood atop a small island with a single cabin resembling a house on it. The rest of the island was a flat grassy field.

"How are we in the sky?" Arthur asked the inspector to which he simply looked at Arthur with a confused face.

"It's a simple tier 6 spell, I would have expected you to be familiar with it since it's one of the more famous spells," said the inspector to which Arthur tried to think for a moment but couldn't come up with a single spell which resembled that criteria.

"Wow, I guess you caught me by surprise. I'll just tell you about it then. It's a tier 6 gravity spell," said the inspector to which Arthur looked horrified at what the inspector said as he had realized what spell the inspector was talking about but it didn't make any sense.

"Wait, you couldn't be talking about-?! But doesn't that spell require you to use an astronomical amount of your stamina to maintain it? Maintaining an object of this size for even a single minute is extraordinary but managing to do it for the entire duration of my training is plainly insane," said Arthur as he had doubt in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to believe that a single man was capable of so much.

"This alone impresses you? I guess you have yet to experience the true capabilities of magic. If you simply trained your body for a couple years, you'll be able to catch up to my level in no time," said the inspector which left Arthur speechless.

"Are you serious?! Let's get started right now then! There's no time to waste," said Arthur to which the inspector simply smiled before replying.

"Firstly, my name is Yosel. Secondly, I would like to test your abilities to see how to specifically train you so that I may bring out the best in you," said the inspector to which Arthur gave a nod and began to move a bit back so that he could create a bit of distance between him and Yosel.

"Tier-" Arthur began to prepare to cast a magical spell before being interrupted by Yosel who wanted to inform him of something.

"Hold on Arthur, in this battle, I would like you to refrain from using any spells. Just rely on your body," said Yosel to which Arthur agreed not knowing how weak his body truly was.

After running towards Yosel for what seemed like years, Arthur tried to leap off the ground before trying to land a punch on Yosel's chin. While all this took place, Yosel was surprised at how slow Arthur truly was. It was like the only thing that Arthur could do was rely on his spells to rescue him whenever he got in trouble.

Seeing how pathetic Arthur was, Yosel simply kicked Arthur in his chest and pushed him away before concluding the battle.

"That's enough, I've seen what I needed to see. I realize that I have a lot more work than I originally expected. Well, it's not like I can blame you since it was my fault for not expecting your physical capabilities to be so underwhelming. Anyway, give me a second while I think of something for you to do so that you can improve your body," said Yosel to which Arthur just gave a confused smile.

"Does he know that saying stuff like that hurts people's feelings?" Arthur thought to himself before Yosel finally figured out something.

"Let's try weighted clothing!" Yosel said with a smile on his face.
