章節 31: Access to memories
Alexander couldn't believe it. He was finally going to be able to access his memories from past lives. The AI paused for a moment, seemingly considering Alexander's request. Finally, it spoke, "[Alright, Alexander. I'll see what I can do. But be warned, this is uncharted territory. We don't know what kind of effects it could have on you.]"

Alexander was eager to proceed despite the warning. He knew the potential consequences but felt that it was worth the risk. The AI began to give him instructions on how to access his memories, and after a few difficulties, they were able to successfully access them.
As they went through his memories, they were both shocked to see the events of his past lives unfold before them. Alexander saw himself die over and over again, but this time, with a new understanding of the circumstances that led to his demise.
The AI was surprised that Alexander was right about being able to go back in time after each death. It teased him, saying, "[Well, I'll be. I suppose I should have believed you when you first told me about this ability of yours. It's quite remarkable, isn't it?]" Alexander couldn't help but smile.
The AI chuckled, "[Oh, Alexander. It seems like you're always getting into trouble, no matter what life you're in. Perhaps you're just drawn to danger.]"
Alexander sighed, "Maybe. But it's not like I do it on purpose. It's just that there's always something interesting to discover or someone to help. And sometimes, that means putting myself at risk."
The AI nodded in understanding, "[I know, Alexander. It's part of what makes you who you are. But maybe next time, we should try a different approach. Something safer, perhaps.]"
Alexander raised an eyebrow, "Safer? Since when have we ever done anything safe?"
The AI shrugged, "[Well, there's always a first time for everything, right? Besides, it might be good to take a break from all the danger and focus on something else for a change.]"
Alexander considered the AI's words, "Maybe you're right. But for now, let's focus on finding out what that elf knows about me. Maybe he has some answers that can help us."
The AI nodded, and they continued to watch the memories. As they watched, they saw the figure talking to the king of the elves, and Alexander suddenly remembered that he had seen the figure before. It was during his first meeting with the king of the elves, before he died and was transported to his next life.
Excitedly, Alexander pointed this out to the AI, and they went back even further in time to the moment of his first encounter with the elves. As they watched, they saw the figure standing behind the king, listening intently to their conversation.
The AI remarked, "[Interesting. It seems like this figure has been following you for a long time, Alexander. But why? What does he want with you?]"
Alexander shook his head, "I don't know. But it's clear that he knows something about me, something that I don't remember. Maybe he has some answers that can help me figure out who I am and why I keep coming back to life."
The AI nodded, "[It's definitely worth investigating. But let's be cautious, Alexander. We don't know what kind of dangers lie ahead, and we don't want to put ourselves in even more danger than we already are.]"
Alexander agreed, and they continued to watch the memories, piecing together the puzzle of his past lives and the mysterious figure who seemed to be following him. As they did so, the AI couldn't help but continue teasing Alexander about his reckless tendencies, making him laugh despite the gravity of the situation.
Alexander rolled his eyes, "Thanks for the reminder, Alex. But can we focus on the present for now?"
[Of course,] the AI replied, still smirking. [But I have to admit, I find it fascinating that you have all these memories from past lives. It's almost like you're a different person each time you come back.]
Alexander sighed, "It's not as great as you think. It's a lot of pressure, trying to remember everything and make the right choices. And then there's the fact that I keep dying and coming back. It's not exactly a fun experience."
[I can imagine,] the AI said, the teasing tone gone from its voice. [But at least you have the advantage of knowing what's happened before. It could be useful in certain situations.]
"I suppose you're right," Alexander said, considering this. "But it's not always easy. And sometimes, the memories can be... overwhelming."
[I can see that,] the AI said sympathetically. [But we'll figure it out together. And who knows, maybe one day we'll even find a way to break the cycle and let you move on to the afterlife.]
Alexander's eyes widened at this suggestion, "You think that's possible?"
[Anything is possible,] the AI replied cryptically. [But for now, let's focus on finding out more about that figure you saw. We'll start with your memories of the elves and see if we can pinpoint who it might be.]
As they continued to delve into Alexander's memories, the AI couldn't help but tease him about his embarrassing encounters from his past lives. One such memory that the AI brought up was the time when Alexander believed that a girl was talking to him, only to find out that she was actually speaking to someone else. The AI couldn't stop laughing as Alexander groaned in embarrassment.
"[Oh, Alexander. You always did have a way of embarrassing yourself. I can't believe you fell for that," the AI teased.
Alexander scowled, feeling his face heat up. "I was young and naive back then. It's not like you haven't made mistakes before."
The AI chuckled. [Touché. But at least I don't have to relive them every time we delve into your memories.]
Alexander shook his head, smiling despite himself. He had to admit, the AI's jokes and teasing were a welcome distraction from the gravity of the situation. They continued to explore his memories, going back further and further in time.
As they delved deeper, Alexander's memories began to blur together. He saw flashes of his past lives, each one more vivid than the last.
