"Wait," Nicklaus called Arissa to a halt when they climbed out of the car and she was about to walk in. 

Arissa faced Nicklaus. Her eyes calm and questioning, she walked towards him. At first, she planned to rush in, still embarrassed about what happened between them in the car but now, her embarrassment has long disappeared. The longing in his voice had sent them all away. 

When she faced him, Nicklaus opened the car door leading to the back seats. Under Arissa's watch, he brought out a wrapped bunch of red roses from the car. 

Arissa turned numb and her heart drooped into her stomach when he walked towards her with the roses. She blinked rapidly to make sure she wasn't dreaming. She even went as far as pinching herself secretly at the side and when she felt pain, strength left her and she felt like fainting.
