Liliana arrived home right before dinner. She was glad to see Old Master Ding looked better than this morning. But, his eyes still had a faint hint of redness.
Without saying anything, Liliana gently patted her granduncle's back when they met outside the dining room. She understood that no words were enough to soothe the outburst of his sadness and regrets.
"I'm fine, Lili," Old Master Ding smiled gratefully at Liliana. He gestured to the dining room, "Let's go inside. Your great-grandpa and mom are waiting for us."
"Okay, Grandpa," Liliana curled up her lips, trying to show a serene look instead of a troubled one, "You need to eat a lot tonight, okay? Butler Yan said you didn't have much during lunch."
Liliana contacted Butler Yan before she started her meeting with the foundation staff. What he said made her uneasy.
