"Go and try to get some sleep. Do you have a class tomorrow? If not, let's meet at noon."

Lucas still tried to calm the distraught Kevin down. He reminded his younger brother not to overthink the matter until losing his sleep. They arranged to meet at Kevin's university tomorrow afternoon.

After ending the call, Lucas felt a void overtake his heart. He slipped the phone inside the pocket of his cotton pants. Its weight pulled the pants lower, revealing his two mermaid lines.

"What the hell..."

Lucas let out a sigh he tried to suppress. His mind was actually still registering the news coming from Kevin earlier. The look in his eyes darkened.

If this was true, how long had his father been doing this?

As far as Lucas remembered, his father Richard was not usually at home. He claimed that he was swamped with endless work but, with this revelation, Lucas wondered if this was the reason his father was always busy.

"Shit. I better sleep."
